Danielle here, sharing the first few pages of my December album. It’s my very first crafty Christmas so I’m incredibly excited to bust out Noel and document my December – yippee!
I started the process by dancing around my craft room holding aloft the beautiful polka dot 6x8 binder like Simba at the beginning of The Lion King… we all did that though… right!? It’s too stunning a binder not to ;-)
Once the caffeine had worn off, I pulled out some of my favourite die cuts from the Noel kit and went to work arranging them on a 6x8 page protector which had 12 tiny pockets to fill. I found some coordinating buttons from my stash and stuck some in the pockets while the chunkier items were stuck on the outside.
To avoid weird shapes showing through on the reverse of my pockets, I backed some of the squares with Noel papers. I didn’t back all the squares as it would have been a shame to lose the transparent look, I think I reached a happy medium.
I needed to create a little date card so decided to make one using a cute plaid Noel journal card. I added one of the fabulous gold chipboard numbers and sandwiched an acetate pop-in between another journal card – that way both sides of my date card looked swish.
After a failed attempt at printing some of the Cozy digitals on vellum (my naff printer just smudged everything), I decided to still use vellum but to stick die cuts directly onto it and then back the vellum with a sheet of the Noel polka dot paper. By adding the paper behind the vellum, it created a really soft title page and although it’s not what I originally intended, I’m happy with the end result.
