Hey everyone!
Tiffany here with a spread in my unraveling journal using a mix of the Krystal and Amanda kits. My unraveling journal is where I'm documenting all about myself, in a deconstructed sort of way. What I mean when I say "deconstructed" is that I'm keeping a journal of loose pages to be bound together in the end once the journal is complete. So I'm essentially creating a loose page spread and I thought creating a pocket page to tuck the Amanda library cards in to would be a good way to document my guiding word--and supporting words--for the year.
I began by cutting the wood grain paper from the Krystal Kit to 6x8 in size. Once I had that paper cut to size, I then cut strips from some of the other papers from the Krystal and Amanda kits to layer and create my pockets. Instead of gluing the papers together, I stitched each layer into place with my sewing machine, making sure that the library cards would fit comfortably. My pocket ended up having enough room for four cards.
Next, I moved onto the library cards themselves. I added tabs to the tops of each of them, which I cut out from one of the Amanda papers. I then added a few of the Krystal charms to some of the cards, using a gold trim from the Coco kit to secure them in place. For the other cards without a charm, I added a itty bitty puffy sticker. I used each of the cards to journal about one of my guiding words for the year. For the last card, I listed out a few goals I intend to keep this year, using the dot puffy stickers as bullet points. I finished off that pocket page by adding some ripped book paper to the top of the pocket, along with "My Words" spelled out with the mini essentials and Krystal puffy alphabet stickers.
After I created my pocket, I moved that to the side and worked on the opposite page. Here I used a piece of drawing paper as my base and made a little collage from a few pieces of ripped pattern paper and a book page. I added another one of the Krystal charms that says "Love" on it to the page, with a bit of that gold Coco trim tied to it. I then drew a few faint lines in pencil and added my journaling.
These pages are pretty simple and came out rather quickly. I absolutely love how these kits match so well with each other!
