Hi FJ friends!
Ulli here with you with a little and quick mini book idea. I wanted to make a mini book but I was not in the mood for a complicated binding and so I’ve made a circle mini book with a Felicity Jane Essentials Loose Leaf Ring in white. I’ve used the gorgeous Reese collection and some embellishments of previous kits. Here you can see the cover.
I used a metal die for circles and the circle pages of this mini have a size of 3 1/8 inches. First I used the metal die and some thin chipboard to make the circles for the cover (top & bottom). Then I used the same circle metal die and the Reese "Spotted & Gingham“ paper to make circles for the cover. For the inside of the cover I used the pinkish solid paper of the Reese collection. I glued both on the chipboard and used my Crop A Dile to punch holes into the covered chipboard. I set a yellow eyelet into the hole in the cover on the top. Then I used the wonderful FJ book ring in white with 1 3/4 inches width to hold everything together.
I used the following Reese papers to make circles for the pages: Reese "Spotted & Gingham", Reese "Gingham & Spots", Reese solid cardstock in all 4 colors, Reese "Floral & Plaid" and Reese "Garden & Grid". I also used some of the pretty Reese Journaling Cards and made circles with my circle metal dies in 3 1/8 inches and in 2 1/2 inches.
Then I punched out some pictures in the size of the pages and some pictures in smaller sizes of 2 1/2 and 2 inches, also with the stitched border circle metal die. I sorted them and began to glue everything together. On the back of the big pictures I glued patterned paper circles or solid paper circles and when I used smaller circle pictures I glued two patterned paper circles together and the pictures on them. I used my cover page to have a stencil for the holes for all the other page. When I finished a page I added the hole into the top and added it on the book ring.
Here you can see the first pages. I added some letter beads on black thread and added them on pictures after I punched two holes into them. Then I knotted them on the back and glued the pictures on the pages. I decorated them with the gorgeous Chipboard Heart Stickers of the Reese and the Aspen collection and some Corduroy Hearts. I also added some stamps with black ink here and there. I used the Abigail Stamp Set.
The tulle bow is from the previous Hannah collection and the vellum butterfly is from the cute Mari collection. I love the matching of all FJ embellishments when I'm mixing the pretty kits. They are so versatile.
On some pages I added some phrases and words with the cute and small Reese Puffy Alphabet Stickers and the Abigail Puffy Alphabet Stickers. The size of them is perfect for small mini books like mine. On the following page I mixed all colors of the Aspen and the Reese Chipboard Hearts Stickers on the striped Reese paper. I love the look of them together.
Here are all the other pages I’ve made in my mini book. I added more letter beads and the Mari vellum butterfly in baby blue. And I also used the chipboard heart stickers and Abigail Puffy Alphabet in green.
Sometimes you don’t need to decorate pages. On the next page I used a wonderful drone picture of the beach and I wanted to leave it clean for a better effect. I also love to play with embellishments and with their position. I layered three of the Corduroy hearts around the right side of the picture. On the heart charm of the Krystal collection I knotted black yarn and made a little bow on it.
The "Today Is Magical" Reese journaling card was perfect to glue onto the lilac gingham paper. I also used the striped Reese jjournaling card to make a smaller circle and to layer a picture on it.
I think the last two pages are my favorite pages of the mini. I’ve used the pinkish solid cardstock from the Reese collection here and family pictures from the beach. The smaller one I decorated with the Abigail Stamp Set and some Julia Epoxy Dots in pink and green. The bigger picture in 2 1/2 inches I added centric on the circle page and added many Chipboard Heart Stickers of the Reese and Aspen collections around it. I used different distances between these heart groups and so they are a perfect eye catcher for a fun page.
For the cover I’ve used the wonderful "You Are Magic" Reese die cut and the cute garland. I cut the garland into two pieces and glued it on the cover. Then I added the title "You Are Magic" with 3 D dots on it. I added three Chipboard Heart Stickers and 3 Julia Epoxy Dots on the dots of the garland. I love this small and cute effect. Have you ever tried this out?
I hope you like my quick little mini book and I could inspire you to also create one with the wonderful FJ loose leaf rings and some FJ papers and embellishments. Sometimes you can find magic while creating little and easy things.
Have a wonderful week!
xx Ulli
