Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing my first project using the super gorgeous Zoey kit! As soon as I opened up that beautiful black and white striped box this month, the ideas just started flowing! With every item that I pulled out of the box, I was ‘oo-ing and ah-ing’! I know that I definitely want to create some birthday themed layouts with this kit, as it will be perfect for that, but for my first project, I decided to create a traveler’s notebook spread!
I’m continuing to use this insert to document all of the little everyday things that my youngest daughter, Eleanor and I do together during the week. I absolutely love flicking through this notebook and seeing all of those memories there in one place!
To start off this spread, I covered the bottom half of both pages with the bold stripe patterned paper. Before I adhered them to the page, I added some machine stitching along the top edge of the patterned papers. I love subtle texture that this adds to the page! I also added a strip of the loops patterned paper across both pages of the spread.
How beautiful are the acetate shapes in this kit?! I used the word ‘Enjoy’ as part of my title. (I find that one of the easiest ways to stick these acetate pieces to your page is to staple them.) I completed my title using one of the stamps from the kit that says ‘the little things’. These stamps are so versatile, and even though this set is birthday themed, there are still plenty of phrases that can be used on non-themed layouts!
I matted my photo using one of the solid colored papers from the kit. Then I added some layers behind the photo using a journaling card and a couple of the die cut shapes.
I wrote my journaling on the right hand side of the spread, and then I added a couple of little fishtail banners up in the top right hand corner of the page. One of these is a die cut, the other I hand cut out of one of the patterned papers.
I finished the spread off by adding a few of the sequin die cuts (how fun are these?!), and a few of the bitty puffy stickers.
I hope that you’re enjoying creating with the Zoey kit as much as I am! I’ll be back here on the blog next week to share another project using the Zoey kit with you!

Lovely spread, and I can totally relate to the unpredictability of kids eating
