Hello FJ friends,
Anne here with a super simple idea today. I had the thought of using the pretty journaling cards. I rarely do pocket pages, so I always have a lot of them left. What a shame! I didn't want to create a grid layout and I didn't want to do a pocket page. I wanted to show the cards and not hide them in a layering staple. After a while of brainstorming I thought about an album. I remembered a tutorial for an envelope mini album. And because you can fold your own envelopes, you'll have the chance to create exact the format you want.
First I chose some patterns and folded envelopes. They have the right size to hide a journaling card. Then I glued the envelopes together and within a few minutes your album is ready. My album is really simple. My daughter had her first vacation without us last week (or right now from my perspective this week, because I wrote this text a week earlier...). And of course she took her camera with her. So I decided to give this album to her for her photos, stories and ephemera and embellish just a little bit.
Another great idea for using the journaling cards: die cut them into tags. I absolutely love the tag metal die set. And I really love the look of this tag - upside down. It's easy and effective.
Combine the patterns as you like. I also added some embossed white cardstock to the album. It's nice to feel the pattern. I layered some die cuts and used the Reagan metal die set for a little title.
I also used the branding strip for my envelopes and love the nice edge. The gold puffy stickers are a great eye-catcher. I embellished everything just a little bit, because I'm sure my daughter will collect a lot of bits and pieces, drawings, letters, packagings. I know her...
For my last page I used another journaling card, ripped a part of it and punches a 'notebook' look. It's like a little banner for this page and doesn't need more than a little heart to stand out.
So with just a few little pretty things you're able to create a quick and easy album. Have a try.
How do you use the journaling cards? Tell us and share your creations with us #felicityjane.
Have an awesome day, Anne.

did you use the full size pattern paper to make envelopes?
