Everyday Things | Kelly Barron
Hello friends! My name is Kelly Barron and I’m thrilled to be working with Felicity Jane this month as their guest designer. I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful kit to work with, and I had a hard time choosing supplies for my first layout.
When I saw Kate holding her sweet bag, it made me think of my favorite Kate Spade bag that I just purchased a couple of months ago. It is a gorgeous shade of pink, and has been on my wish list for a very long time. This kit is full of beautiful pinks and corals, and I thought that it was perfect to use to document this story.
Floral papers are some of my favorite patterns and I love to fussy cut them as well. It does take some time to do this, but I find the cutting to be therapeutic and the results are spectacular! I popped the floral piece with some thin foam squares to give it a little dimension and add more visual interest to the cluster.
These gold letter stickers are amazing! Often I will use two different alphas to form my title, and I love how versatile the Jen stamp set is when it comes to stamping out words. It can be intimidating to stamp directly onto the background, so I stamped it on a scrap piece of cardstock. I find that stamping is easier knowing that if I make a mistake it is not on my background and I can easily fix it.
Thanks so much for having me this month! The kit is amazing, and I hope that you enjoyed my layout and perhaps found some additional inspiration for your next crafty endeavor.
