Hello friends!
It's Sheree here and we have a new Sketch Challenge to share with you today that I just know you're going to love! This sketch has been created for us by Creative Team Member Anna Blades. Let's take a look...
It's such a lovely design! Let's hear what Anna has to say about the sketch and the gorgeous layout she created...
Hi FJ friends!
It’s Anna here and this month I’ve designed a new sketch for you using the gorgeous Millie kit. I hope you have fun with it. I think it’s simple but very versatile.
At the top of the page, I placed two strips of patterned paper. I cut one of them diagonally. This floral paper is so beautiful, so I had to use it. Below it, on the left side, I put my picture. I framed it with solid green cardstock and a piece of tissue paper. I stamped some leaves from the Krystal stamp set matching the patterned paper colors.
For my title, I fussy cut the word “love” from one of the journaling cards, and I stuck it with foam squares to add dimension. To embellish the picture, I put the floral die cut next to the title and a felt heart shape. I also stamped a phrase and some little hearts under the title.
Finally, I add a little cluster at the lower right corner using some die cuts, stamps, and a puffy heart sticker.
You can turn it 90 degrees, add some journaling under the picture, use three photos in a row, put your title where the cluster is… many possibilities! I can’t wait to see your take on it!

Team Member Jana Bennett has also put a layout together using the sketch and it's beautiful!
Here's Jana to tell us how she interpreted the sketch...
As much as I love layouts with many photos, I also love simple sketches. And this one form Anna is very simple yet also very beautiful! It is so easy to follow that you will have your layout finished in no time! Of course, only if you decide not to cut out a title from a journaling card, or paper florals, or make a fringe ...
I started with the background paper and went for a beautiful heart pattern. These little hearts are so cute! Then I chose the top two papers - one with flowers, the second one is stripey yellow. When I see stripes, I see fringe, so I took my scissors and added some dimension by cutting the stripes. I changed the composition a bit since I didn't have much space (my page is only 6x8 inches in size). I didn't do the bottom right cluster. As well as Anna I just had to fussy cut the title LOVE from the journaling card! It just goes so well with the photo of our kids and their flowers for my mother's day! Under the photo you can find two journaling cards. I love using cards for backing up the photos - it means you don't have to cut into your beautiful papers...for now!
I can't wait to see what you create with Anna's beautiful sketch!

We also have a fabulous layout by Team Member Ulrike Dold to share with you too. Let's hear what Ulli has to say about her layout...
I really love this little sketch challenge at the FJ blog every month and Anna´s sketch is so pretty! I turned the sketch around 180 degrees and started with the papers. I used the wonderful Millie patterned papers "Plaid & Tiny Hearts" and "Dots & Flowers", cut them to a wide paper strip and a big triangle and glued them on the bottom. Then I used the back from the "Plaid & Tiny Hearts" paper and cut it a little bit bigger than my black and white picture. I glued my picture on it and both over the paper strip with a little distance. I added one of those super cute miniwide paper clips in white on my picture.
For my title I was inspired by the adorable Millie cupcake die cut and so I decorated the sweet chapter tickets and the cupcake with 3 D dots on my photo. For the long title "You are the sprinkles on our cupcake" I used the wonderful red Millie Puffy Alphabet, the sweet Tiny Dot Essential Alphabet and the mint Tori Puffy Alphabet Stickers. I began with the last word on the bottom of my picture and added then little by little the other words to the top. I added the scalloped border on the top and the "Favorite" die cut shape from the Millie collection under my picture. For the journaling I’ve used one of those super cute Millie Designer Tags and glued it a little bit overlapped beside my picture. For closing the tag with the handwritten story I’ve used one puffy heart sticker in red from the Millie Kit. I also added a heart puffy sticker in aqua besides my title.
I used the Felicity Jane roller date stamp to add the date beside the photo but had an earlier year number which is not included on the roller stamp. So I searched for small numbers and found the cute FJ Hooray! Stamp set. With these numbers I stamped the year on my layout with less ink and a little bit overlapping. Then I used the tiny candle stamp from the Hooray stamp set and added around the big title and the picture many sprinkles. I only added ink on the lower part of the candle, not on the top with the blaze.
At the end I added the quote "I Love You This Much" with the Millie Stamp Set under the scalloped border and added the "Love" tab between the papers.
I hope you like my sketch layout and you feel inspired to make your own version of this wonderful sketch. Can’t wait to see what you create!
xx Ulli

One of my favourite things about the monthly sketch challenge is seeing how everyone uses to sketch in different ways. Now it's your turn! We'd love to see what you create using the sketch as inspiration! Don't forget to share your work with us either on Instagram using #fjsketchchallenge, or on the Felicity Jane Facebook page. We can't wait to see what you come up with!
