Hello crafty friends! Leigh here, with a travel layout using the new Henley Kits for March 2018. I love the colors in this kit, and wanted to feature all the patterns as punched and fussy cut clouds. The kit has lots of patterns that work for any theme, as you can see I did not use any travel-specific items, but the story is told through the shapes and the way the kit is used.
The background is a soft robin's egg blue from the solid colors in the Henley kit, and I layered the Retro and Dots pattern at the top of the page. The punched clouds help tell the story of a very snowy, rainy, and cloudy trip to Ireland for my two sisters and my mom and me. I made the most of it though, and really enjoyed this special time with my mom.
The clouds were layered on different depths of foam dots and craft foam to give some interest in the layers. All the patterns in this kit coordinate into such an interesting combination! I machine stitched down some trails to the sequins, to portray the snow and rain.
This photo shows a close up of the sequins in the kit, and the stitching under a few clouds, and over others. Do you have a favorite way to add pattern and color to your pages? I very rarely use colored card stock as a background, but find the soft and eye-pleasing Felicity Jane colors so easy to work with that I enjoy them as a background!
At this angle, you can see the different layers a little better, and the title in the Gold Foil Puffy Alphabet from the kit. I love the FJ alphabets so much.
