Hi FJ friends!
Today I am with a very special project on the blog. I made with the gorgeous new Krystal collection a mini book about my visit at the office of Felicity Jane in Mesa/Arizona in January 2020 with my friend and scrapbooker Steffi Ried. The colors are matching perfectly and it was so much fun to do this mini album. I made pages in different sizes/heights for this mini book and I was inspired by the talented Steffi Ried. She made some minis in this style in the last months, too. I love that you can see all used patterns on one look when you open this mini and of course the patterns of the FJ Krystal collections are all so wonderful!
For the mini book I used cardboard and cut it to 7.5 x 3.5 inches (2x) and 7.5 x 1.25 inches. I used the wonderful Krystal paper "Stripes & Grid" paper to cover it outside. Therefore I’ve cut the paper to 10 x 9 inches and glued it over all the three cardboard parts with some space between them, rounded the corners and covered it with it. For the inside cover I’ve cut the Krystal "Gingham & Dotty Diagonal" paper into 8.25 x 7.25 inches. I wanted to do some hand stitching before and used a pencil to added 4 lines on the left side. I pierced holes into the paper with a piercing tool and stitched by hand 4 lines with a pinkish yarn on this paper. Then I’ve glued it into the inside of the mini book and decorated the endings of them with 4 of the wonderful FJ Krystal Charms. I made a bow on the loops of them with the same yarn and added some Glossy Accent there to fix them.
For the pages in different sizes I used 4 different Krystal patterned papers. I made all 6 3/4 inches in width and the heights are the following sizes:
"Swiss Dot & Plus" - 4 inches
"Floral & Spots" - 5 inches
"Tuxedo Stripes & Wood" - 6 inches
"Tiny Floral & Hearts" - 7 inches
I folded them always from both sides at 3 1/4 inches to have 1/4 inch left to glue the pages with this spine in 1/4 inch in my mini book. I glued them one after one into the book - with some space to the borders on both sides.
For the first page I’ve used a picture with many striped boxes and I decorated it with a cute felt band from the Bailey kit I think. And I added the "Big Dreams" Die Cut Shape there. Its the perfect entrance for a little visible FJ office tour.
On the next page I added a picture of the wonderful Jeana from Felicity Jane, Steffi and me. I am so happy that we could meet finally and it was so amazing getting to know each other. On the right side I added a little envelope which I made form the Krystal paper strip with all the patterns. I folded it two times and punched little circles from white cardstock. I punched holes into the pages and into the circles and added two pink eyelets there. Then I knotted pinkish yarn on the circle on the bottom. Now I can fix the pages with this closure.
I typed the journaling on a Katherine Library Card in light pink and glued it into the inside of this little pocket.
On the next page I’ve added a picture from some details of the adorable FJ office. I decorated this page and the left side with Krystal Die Cut shapes, Tori Puffy Stickers, Shay Puffy Words and Megan Puffy Stickers. I added three little pinkish sequin flowers from the Taylor collection on the flower bouquet on the right side and I love this sweet detail. I also added a Jenny word sticker there.
The next page I decorated with the cute Krystal Journaling card with the cute house and the flowers, the cute Krystal stamp set and some epoxy dots from the Tori collection.
On the next page is my favorite detail from the FJ office: the wonderful pink door. I added a big title on the left side. Therefore I’ve used the Jenny Puffy Word "love" and the Coco alphabet in black. I also added a Krystal label there and two of the cute Megan heart puffy stickers. I added them, into the letters "o" - they have the perfect size for it. The small black alphabet stickers are from a previous FJ Christmas collection.
On the right side with the picture of the door I’ve placed on the top and the bottom of the picture a little hole. Then I used the pink yarn and added Krystal wood veneer flowers and pink Taylor flower sequins on it and fixed it on the back of the picture with some Washi Tape before I’ve glued it on the wooden paper page.
The next page is a fun page with a big picture. I punched a half circle with a circle punch on the right side of the picture to get a little pocket there. I glued the picture into the mini, but I glued the picture on the right side not completely into the book. So I had enough space to add there a cute self made tag with the adorable Krystal papers and the FJ Shay Metal Die (Tag Builder). I added the Krystal stamp "This made me laugh today" on the tag. Then I decorated the pages with the cute Krystal chipboard polaroid pieces and added the letters for the word "smile" on them. I glued them under my picture. I also decorated this page with Jenny Word Stickers and some Shay Puffy Stickers.
On the next page I added another pocket with the striped Krystal journaling card, into which I’ve punched a half circle on the top. Then I added a picture with a striped ribbon on top and the cute pink gingham tag from the Krystal Die Cuts inside of this pocket. On the right side I’ve used FJ plastic packaging from embellishments, filled it with pink Taylor flower sequins and green leaf sequins and fixed the top under a picture of me in the entrance area of the FJ office. I decorated this page with the cute Krystal alphabet stickers and one of these super cute miniwide paper clips in pink.
On the next page I wanted to highlight the picture of the wonderful entrance area of the FJ office and I only decorated the big picture with the wonderful chipboard rose from the gorgeous Krystal collection and a little self made mini tag with the floral Krystal paper.
On the last page of this mini book with this wonderful memory I added a picture of Jeana and Steffi from our dinner in Jeana's favorite restaurant. I wanted to make this page special, because this evening was so fun and so I added a piece of white FJ cardstock with yarn on the page. I wanted to get the look of a pin board with cords. It is a little bit smaller than the page of the mini book so the wonderful green-grey floral paper is still visible. I added into the yarn the picture in a circle shape and also a mini tag. I stamped the "On The Menu" Krystal Stamp on a piece of white cardstock and fixed it in the yarn too. Then I added circles from different Krystal patterns in different sizes there and the Krystal label with the word sticker "Dinner". To finish off this page I added some round Megan Puffy Stickers there, too.
At the end I used the black FJ ribbon from my Krystal packaging and added it with double glue tacky tape on the outside of the mini book. I added one of these wonderful floral Krystal Die Cuts there and for the title I’ve used the black Coco Puffy Alphabet, a black Krystal Die Cut heart shape and small black FJ alphabet stickers. I love this fastener because its so FJ!
