Hey FJ friends, Anne here with a brand new layout made with the gorgeous August kit. I love the theme and the fresh color combination.
I created a very simple layout. I wanted to center my favorite patterns of the paper. So I chose a grid design, but not a classic one. I cut two papers down to 3x4 and one to a 4x6 piece. With a border punch I added a little extra detail to the big scrap. You could also tear the paper to get a varied look. After that I layered all the paper pieces together in the middle of some white cardstock.
Then I got to the fun part - embellishing. I had this photo of my daughter holding hands with a 'friend for 3 days' on vacation. And it's so typical for her. She's such an open and warmhearted person. She loves to make new friends, chats with strangers and sees other's life. I decorated the photo very minimally. Just a paper clip, one of the puffy stickers and a folded paper. I love the effect of that. You see both patterns peeking through behind the photo and it has a little dimension.
I decided to embellish only one of the papers, because the floral paper is so beautiful I didn't want to cover it. I printed my journaling on vellum and mirrored the right side on the dots paper - folded vellum with some dimension. To finish my page I punched out a little tab and stamped one part of a phrase on it. I completed the quote with a chipboard heart. Just a little detail.
