"Friends & Slides" 6x8 Pocket Page Spread │ Lydia Cost

Happy Wednesday, beautiful friends! I’m so excited to get to stash bust this month with all my fellow FJ lovers, and this little spread was perfect for just that. I really wanted to pull back out one of my favorites in my stash, the Denise collection.

I fell head over hills with the florals in this collection when I guest designed for FJ, before my design team term, and it felt so good to pull it back out again and give it some love. Unlike some scrappers who put everything inside their pockets, I have a guilty habit of attaching all the pretty things I don’t want to trim down to the outside.

I started with a base of gorgeous 3x4 journaling cards, and then I trimmed down one of my favorite striped mustard papers from the collection to fill the remaining pockets. I chose one of the amazing Library Card journaling cards to fill one as well, because they are so beautiful! They make such a pretty little card to run through your typewriter.

Next I layered on some beautiful fussy-cut florals from the Denise collection, that I knew would make a home outside my pockets to add some pretty dimension. They were the key to tying all of my pretty colors together; all the pretty mustard, pinks, and corals were too pretty to leave out a single shade.

I chose two photos from a weekend trip to visit my beautiful friend Suzanne, and they made for a pretty little spread. I attached some of the amazing essentials cotton ribbon in the FJ shop, pulled out some die-cut pieces, and then added some gorgeous window pane washi too. I had so much fun getting back to my roots of pocket memory-keeping. To tie it all together I used two puffy alphas in mustard and blush pink.
