Today I have another TN spread to share with you using the beautiful Denise collection.
For this layout I pulled a few photos from when we visited Santa Barbara in January. Family photos are rare for us and when we take selfies with our daughter we usually snap at least a few to make sure we get one where we're all in focus and have our eyes open. I loved how the three of these photos worked together to tell the story of that moment. In the first photo my daughter is reaching for my husband's glasses, in the second he's playing back, and in the third we all got it together to smile for the camera. I wanted to include all three photos on my layout so I made a photo strip out of them. Each photo is roughly sized to 2.5 inches wide by 2 inches tall and I left a white border around each photo.
First, I adhered this beautiful color blocking pattern paper that reminds me so much of a beach sunset to the right side of my notebook. I love the pop of color that adds and how it makes the black and white photos really stand out. I also added just a couple of die cuts to embellish the photos.
On the left side I spelled out my title using a couple different colored alphas and then wrote my journaling directly underneath. The page looked pretty empty with just the title and journaling so I decided to try something new. I cut out some triangles from one of the Denise pattern papers and intended to use them as corners around my page. However, after playing with their placement I decided a more abstract placement was more fun.
To balance out the yellow stripes on the left I also trimmed a piece of that pattern paper to tuck under the right side of my photo strip.
I love how simple this page ended up being, but how the colors really make everything pop off the page. Thank you for letting me share this layout with you today!
