Hey everyone!
Tiffany here with a few textured cards I created using the lovely Taylor kit. I created three cards, each one having its own unique texture and dimension to it.
I built each card on a simple white cardstock base. I wanted to keep each card simple yet elegant. They are not necessarily themed, but rather general cards that can be given for any occasion.
The first card I created sort of mimics a paper quilt of sorts. I used the branding paper from the Taylor paper pack to create this one. I simply cut out the individual patterns I wanted to use and stitched them on to the front of the card base.
I then ruffled up the edges of each strip of pattern paper and embellished with a die cut from the Gabby kit, which reads "you are stronger than you think!" I think this is a great little card to give to someone who's either going through a rough time and needs a bit of encouragement or has recently overcome something.
The next card I made is a fun shaker card. The Taylor kit came with this great sequin mix that I knew I wanted to use to add some fun texture and interactive element to one of my cards. I took a bit of vellum and cut it down to fit the face of my card. I then stitched along the sides and bottom to create a pocket to add in the sequins. Once I added the sequins, I ran the top of the card through my sewing machine to seal the pocket closed.
I embellished the front with a few foliage stems and leaf cut outs I made from the pattern papers using a few Felicity Jane Silhouette cut files, which you can find in the FJ Silhouette Store. Layering the different leaves created more texture to the shaker card and acts as a focal point too.
I added a label sticker and a chipboard piece from the Bailey kit that reads "you're sweet." I finished the card off with an epoxy heart sticker. This is a lovely card to give to a friend or loved one to show your gratitude.
The last card I made was so much fun to create! I used the Felicity Jane fox cut file to create this cute little paper-pieced gingham fox. The fox really acts as the focal point of the card. After assembling her, I embellished lightly, giving her a chipboard bow and some autumn foliage by her feet.
I used the "celebrate you" die cut piece from the Tori kit along with an epoxy sticker from the Taylor kit to read "A happy day. Celebrate you." I think this is a cute and simple card to give to anyone who's celebrating something like a birthday or pregnancy. It's just too cute.
I hope you enjoyed a look at my textured cards and that I've encouraged you to create a few of your own!
xxx Tiffany
