Hello FJ friends!
Mandy here on the blog with you today to share a traveler's notebook layout that I created using the super gorgeous Madison collection! I documented a selfie of my youngest daughter Eleanor and I, taken when we visited the zoo recently. It was a fun day together, despite Eleanor being quite scared of the peacocks that roam around, and also being chased by an emu! (Needless to say, she's not a fan of large birds!). But she did enjoy seeing the other animals, and the meerkats were definitely a favourite!
I started my layout off by covering the left hand side of the spread with the 'tiny hearts' patterned paper. This is one of my favourite papers in this kit - I love the super cute little hearts on one side, as well as the gorgeous woodgrain on the other side! I added a machine stitched border around the patterned paper to give it some more texture and interest, before adhering it to the page.
Next I added a few layers behind my photo to help it to stand out and to draw the viewer's eye to it. I used the lovely woodgrain patterned paper, as well as a piece that I cut out of the slip of paper in the front of the paper pack, and a die cut tag. I also fussy cut a floral cluster out of the floral patterned paper, and I adhered it against the left hand side of the page, tucked under the edge of the photo.
Moving over to the right hand side of the spread, you can see that I added a few strips of patterned paper down the right hand side of the page. I used the beautiful pink spotty paper, as well as a thin strip of the woodgrain, and the scallop branding strip off the green solid color paper. I also fussy cut another floral cluster, and I tucked it under the edge of the patterned papers.
At the bottom of the page I stamped the phrase 'Good Day' using one of the stamps from the Madison stamp set. This worked as a perfect title for my layout! To finish the spread off I added a couple of lines of typed journaling, as well as a few little black puffy hearts around the layout.
Thanks so much for joining me here on the blog today! I hope that you're enjoying creating with the beautiful Madison kit this month as much as I am!
