Grace Floral Cards | Sheree Forcier

Hi Everyone!

It’s Sheree here with you again today, and I have some cards to share with you featuring the beautiful Grace Kit.

I absolutely love the florals in the kit this month and I was super excited to play with the floral stamp in the Grace Stamp Set! I’ve also been really drawn to the green gingham paper in this kit…it’s just so fresh and lovely! I knew I wanted to have a touch of this paper on every card.

All three of these cards are sized to 4” x 6”. I made the card bases from white cardstock then set about deciding on which pretty papers to use for each.

For this first card, I cut the gingham paper to 4” x 4” and adhered it to the top of the card front then stitched a border which my sewing machine. I cut a 4” x 3” inch tag from white cardstock and used a slot punch to cut the long hole for the ribbon. I stitched around the edge of the tag before stapling the ribbon into place.

I found green and yellow inks in my stash to match the colours in the kit, then used the Grace Stamp Set to stamp the flowers before fussy cutting them out. I added the flowers, the “smile” die cut and a label (cut from the Labels paper). I stamped a phrase from the Sarah stamp set onto white cardstock to add to the label and also added a Megan puffy sticker to dot the ‘i’. A butterfly die cut finished off the tag, then I added the tag to the card front with foam adhesive.

For this next card I fussy cut five groups of flowers from the Floral paper in the kit to use as embellishments. Four of them I layered together across the top of the horizontal card front. I layered some white cardstock and a strip of the gingham paper together, added some stitching and twine, then adhered them to the card front using foam adhesive so that the flowers were still visible, peeking out at the top.

I stamped the words “Bloom” and “With Grace” from the Grace Stamp Set onto white cardstock and cut them out. I added “With Grace” to a label, stitched across it, then layered it together with the “Bloom” word and fussy cut florals onto the card front. The finishing touch was a little Megan Puffy Sticker at the bottom right.

For the last card I wanted to make use of the packaging strip that comes in the paper pack. It has strips of the patterned papers in the kit only in a smaller scale. Why not use it on a project? I cut the strips and chose the six patterns I wanted to use. Each strip was already one inch wide so I knew they would fit perfectly down the card…they just weren’t long enough to fully go across the card front. To solve this problem I cut the strips in half, positioned them lined up on both sides of the card front, added machine stitching, then decided to use a white piece of cardstock down the middle of the card to cover the gap.

Stitching and twine were added to the white cardstock piece before adhering it into place with foam tape. I stamped more flowers using the Grace Stamp Set and added the “Hello” sticker to the die cut label. I stitched across the label then layered the label and flowers together with the “friend” die cut and another Megan Puffy Sticker to finish it off.

These cards were so fun to put together and now I have some cards in my stash ready to go when I need them! I hope I’ve inspired you to create some floral cards too.
