Grateful - A Soft Mixed Media Layout | Ulrike Dold

Hi crafty friends, Ulli here with you today sharing a new layout with the wonderful Felicity Jane products with you. I made a layout with soft mixed media accents and I hope you like it! This layout has a gratitude theme and I made it with previous Felicity Jane Kits.

I had the idea to cut out 9 circles from my 12x12 cardstock with my Silhouette Cameo and to make a multiple photo layout with it. The circles have the size 2 1/4 inch. First I glued 4 black and white photos behind them and framed these photos this way. I used photos from the 4 things I am most grateful for in my life: my husband, our children, my parents and our home. Then I glued behind two of the circles Lola patterned papers. Therefor I used the pretty blue Gingham paper and the black and white Flowers paper.

I decide to fill the other circles with mixed media techniques and to make some eye catcher with the super cute Felicity Jane embellishments in them too. I cut a squared card of white cardstock (a little bit bigger than my circles) and used mint acrylic paint and the super cute Alexis Stencil to make my own pattern. After drying I glued it behind the circle in the middle from the first row. I used 3 D paper pads to give it more dimension and decorate it with a Zoey Die Cut heart.

Then I stamped another square with different quotes in the colors black, pink and mint. Therefor I used the Autumn and the Oh Deer Stamp Sets. These both stamp sets from previous FJ kits matches perfectly to the thankful theme of my layout. I glued this peace of paper also behind another circle.

For the last circle I glued the super cute pink and white Lola Fringe Trim on a white paper square and glued it also behind the circle to frame it. I decorate it with one of those wonderful Hannah Tulle Bows in White and I love the playful look of this circle.

I stitched with my sewing machine and pink and mint yarn around my photos and then I colored the border from 3 circles with water colors in mint and blue. It´s so easy to do this and the soft look of watercolored paper looks always amazing when you match it with pretty papers and embellishments.

For my hidden journaling I made a little envelope with Felicity Jane solid paper in mint and glued it under the circles in the middle of my layout. I wrote my journaling by hand on a piece of white paper and glued it on a tag which I still had from my last FJ project, the Accordion Mini Album with the Hannah Kit. Then I closed it with the Summer Washi Tape and glued the "Grateful“ Die Cut Shape from the Autumn Kit over it.

I cut a thin paper stripe on the top of my layout and glued the Lola heart paper behind it. Then I teared the paper a little bit and fixed one of those cute white Felicity Jane mini clips on it. To decorate my layout I used the Felicity Jane cut file banner with the word „Blessings“ on the right side on the top of my layout. Did you see all the wonderful Cut Files in the Silhouette Design Shop? If not, please don’t forget to check them out! They are so cute and you find for every time in the year suitable and beautiful motives.

The other two circles with the Lola papers I decorated with a big Layering Butterfly from the Brie Kit and the wonderful Chipboard Flower from the Lola Kit.

I splattered black paint across my page and stamped the little dots from the Hannah Stamp Set vertical on my layout. Then I glued a button on the photo in the middle of my layout. To finish off my layout I stitched another Brie Butterfly on my layout and glued some Henley Epoxy Dots and Kate Epoxy Hearts here and there over my page. I love these kind of embellishments and use them nearly for all my projects.

I hope I could inspire you to use some acrylic paint and watercolors on your next layout. You don’t have to be exercised in mixed media techniques to give your projects soft Mixed Media accents. And it´s so much fun!

Thanks you for stopping by today! Until the next time.

xx, Ulli
