Hello you!
Kerstin here - I am guest designer for December and I hope to inspire you with a 12x12 layout featuring the wonderful Coco kit! My daughter is my favorite photo subject. We always like to take photos together - but mostly of her - and I'm happy every time I can scrap one.
I chose the solid light pink cardstock from the Coco papers as the background to create my layered layout. Then I cut out different sized circles - 6.5 inches from the great "Dots & Bows" paper and 2 x 4.5 inches from white FJ Essential cardstock - with my scissors.
I glued the circle from the "Dots & Bows" paper to the center of the solid light pink cardstock. Then I attached the doily to the right side of it. The first small circle I glued on with dimensionals, because I like to have room for decoration. On one of the two smaller circles I chose a ribbon with glitter - glitter always works! - and glued it round with a thin adhesive tape. To add some dimension I put the second circle also with dimensionals on it.
Now comes the relaxing part for me - bringing my layout to life!
The word "Merry" from the Cardstock Words with the soft colors has it to me immediately. To get the individual letters I carefully separated them with my scissors. And to complete my title I die cut individual letters with the Reagan Alphabet Metal Die Set from the "Merry" color palette paper.
I arranged the letters in a semicircle on the right and applied them with 3 D dots. Various die cuts - Christmas tree, boots, bow, stars, words - I arranged and glued all around on and under the circles. A small black and white bow I glued in the middle above the boots. I tied a small tassel and 2 bells from the ribbon mix that was included in the Coco Christmas Kit to the bow Die Cut with embroidery ribbon.
Then I took the white FJ essentials cardstock, carefully cut out a 9.5 inch circle in the center with my scissors and sewed around it with my sewing machine in two different colors. Then I placed the cardstock on top of the light pink cardstock. I used the rest of the white FJ Essentials cardstock to punch out four snowflakes with a metal die. I was going for a winter Christmas look!
Because I was still missing something, I glued stars from the Coco Star Sequin Mix into the areas that were empty for me. Last but not least, I adhered the photo with 3 dots as well and wrote my journaling on the top left of the circle. I often just write a little journaling on my layouts. If I want to add a little more journaling, I write my reminder on the back of the layout.
I hope I was able to give you a little insight into how I designed this layout and inspire you to get creative with the wonderful Coco Christmas collection!
I wish you a wonderful Christmas time!
Kerstin xx
