Hello everyone, welcome back to the Felicity Jane blog. I am Lauren from beautiful sunny Australia and feel so blessed to be the guest designer here for the month of June. June being my birthday month I couldn’t be more happier to share a layout with you using this months stunning 'Katherine' kit.
This 9x12 inch layout is of my super cute fur baby Elsa who is a much loved but very cheeky family member. The stunning colours of the Katherine kit were perfect to highlight this delightful 3x4 inch photo of her. I printed the photo in black and white so that the colours of the collection would not compete with the photo, allowing the photo and the Katherine kit to be equally highlighted.
When trying to select some of the paper I struggled as I wanted to use them all. The paper pack reference strip solved that worry for me and by using it I was able to have a peek of each of the papers in the collection all on a single layout. I also took advantage of the lovely scalloped edge along the reference strip, that with the help of some stitching softened the edges of the paper and helped the foundation papers come together.
To embellish my layout I wanted to trickle some die cut shapes down the right hand side. I also decided that I wanted my title to be apart of that feature, so using some of the stunning puffy alphabet stickers I adhered the title onto one if the 3x4 inch pocket cards, cut out each of the words, ruffed up the edges and adhered them down mixing them with the die cut embellishments.
If you would like to see how this layout came together, check out my YouTube process video.
I hope my layout has inspired you to create with your beautiful Katherine kit.
I am looking forward to being back later in the month to share another project with you using the beautiful Katherine kit.
Happy Scrapping
Lauren
