Hi FJ friends!
Ulli here with you today and I have a cute Halloween layout with the Emily collection and some papers and embellishments of previous collections and I want to describe how I´ve made it for you. Here is the whole 12x12 layout page.
First I cut from the Emily Gingham & Dot Grid paper a big frame with the width of 3 inches. I cut a piece of white paper from the FJ Essentials cardstock of 7x7 inches and glued it under the frame. Then I used my sewing machine and stitched with white thread and a little distance to the border around the frame. I used my fingers and distressed the paper there and rolled it a little bit to the outside so that the orange Gingham paper is a little bit visible now. Then I used the FJ Cut File "Happy Halloween" and cut it out with my electric die cutting machine. I’ve used the Essentials White Cardstock and the Emily Honey Combs & Leaves paper. I cut the title in the same size and then I glued the white one a little displaced on the patterned one. I clustered the picture with the cute striped Emily journaling card. I decided to make hidden journaling and so I glued the picture on the card only on the border of the left side and the bottom with 3D strips on the left side on the big frame. Then I wrote my journaling on the pinkish Emily library card and moved it under my picture.
I added the big title "Happy Halloween" on the bottom of the big frame and glued it with 3D dots on my page. On the place where the picture is I only used liquid adhesive to fix it on the picture. Then I cut some bats from white cardstock and the Coco Stars & Gingham paper. I made different sizes and I combined the white ones with the patterned ones, I folded them all in the middle and layered them together. Sometimes I put the gingham ones on the top, sometimes the white bats. I used my mini stapler and fixed them together. Then I used my fingers and moved the wings above to add more dimension. I added them on my 12x12 page. I began on the bottom of my page on the right side and ended up on the left side above. Sometimes I glues them with my adhesive roller on the page, sometimes with 3D dots. I also added two white bats on my page without layering.
Then I decorated the my picture with the Emily Die Cuts and Emily Word Stickers. I also used the cute Emily Chipboard Flairs in pink and orange. I wanted to keep the layout in a color palette of black and white with pink, orange and ocher. I also put one of the super cute black mini wide paper clips on my picture.
I added "Oct 31" with the Emily Puffy Alphabet on the Harper Chipboard Tag with the date print and glued it together with the striped chipboard tag on the right edge of the big paper frame below. I added October 31 2020 with the FJ roller date stamp on a black label sticker from the FJ Essentials Label Stickers with the neutral colors and used 3D dots to add dimension. Then I added the ocher cardstock tab from the Emily collection under it and glued both on the right side on the top of my page a little bit under a white bat.
I splattered black paint across my page and added Tori Epoxy Dots in orange and pink here and there. Sometimes on the background, sometimes on the wings of the bats. I always love the playful look with epoxy dots on projects.
I hope you like my Halloween page and I could inspire you to scrap one with Felicity Jane papers and embellishments too. You don’t need Halloween collections to scrap Halloween layouts. Sometimes the right colors, some self-made writings and a perfect picture are enough.
