Hangin’ Out A5 Spread │ Friday Favorites │ Lydia Cost

Hello there amazing, crafty friends!  Today I’m sharing a fun peek inside my A5 notebook.  I’d forgotten how fun this size can be for creating, and it was perfect for using up a bunch of the journaling cards in my stash.  I don’t know why I don’t use them more often, but journaling cards really are one of my favorites when I set out to use them.

They are such a breeze to pop onto a spread or inside a pocket.  I pulled out all those lovely cards from the Taylor collection and started arranging the patterns around my A5 notebook.  I then pulled out my die-cutting machine, so I could put the FJ tag die set to use.  Journaling cards are the perfect size for these dies, and I couldn’t wait to make a bunch of perfect tags with them for my spread.

After running my journaling cards through my die-cutting machine, I arranged my tags on the left side of my spread in varying directions.  I chose to stitch them down for a little dimension and character.  For one tag I chose to string it up with some of that fabulous Forest ribbon.  It hangs off the edge of my spread so prettily, if I do say so myself.

I positioned my photo near the center to cover up one area that wasn’t covered in my stitched tags.  I then layered in some tissue paper and a tab.  I used one of the amazing new epoxy stickers to layer on top of my tag.  I’ve really fallen in love with those little epoxy pieces.

For the left side of my spread, I really wanted to keep it simple.  I layered on another journaling card from the Taylor collection for my journaling, and popped on my photo next to it.  For the lower portion of the page, I knew I wanted a big title with the Taylor alphas.  I aligned my title along the bottom, and then I pulled out the Taylor stamp set.  I chose that perfect 3-line stamp.  It made a perfect separator line on top of my title.  Right in the center I placed another one of those epoxy stickers.  The rainbow emulated those colorful journaling cards perfectly!
