Hello FJ friends!
Are you enjoying the Bailey Kit so far? It’s such a joy to create with! Today I have a new traveler’s notebook spread I’d like to share with you.
The photo I had to work with was quite busy so I wanted to keep the background fairly clean but still wanted to add in some of the patterned papers and colours from the kit, so I reached for the packaging strip that comes in the paper pack. I love that it shows a smaller version of each of the papers in the kit! I cut a strip approximately one inch wide and trimmed it to fit across the bottom of each page, then adhered them into place.
I printed out my journaling using my computer, leaving a space on the first line so I could add the “Madison” stamp from the Madison Stamp Set. I added some blue striped paper to the top, cut out some blue scallop from the paper packaging to tuck in under the bottom of the journaling and added some machine stitching.
Since this is a birthday themed spread, I used three heart die cuts to make a bunch of balloons by attaching some twine to the back of each one. Foam dots were used behind the hearts to add some dimension, then I gathered the twine balloon strings together, stapled them into place and covered the staple with the chipboard bow.
To finish off this first page, I stamped the "XO" stamp from the Bailey Stamp Set, cut it out and positioned it with a foam dot, then added a chipboard phrase.
On the second page I matted the photo with the blue striped paper, adhered it into place and added some stitching. The “Love This So Much” stamp from the Bailey Stamp Set was stamped onto plain white cardstock, cut out and then adhered onto the yellow die cut label. This label was then layered together with the “happy” die cut at the top of the photo.
I stamped the “Date/Details” stamp onto some white cardstock, cut it out and positioned it under the photo. A gold die cut heart was added with a foam dot, then I stamped the date using the FJ Roller Date Stamp and added “13th Birthday” which I typed up on my typewriter onto some white cardstock. A little bit of stitching added some more texture to the page.
You can watch my process in the video below...
I hope I’ve been able to give you a few ideas that you can use on your next project, and perhaps you’ll use some of the packaging too!
Thank you so much for joining me on the blog today! I look forward to bringing you some more Bailey Kit inspiration very soon!
