Hello FJ friends,
How is the slowly advancing autumn treating you? I don't know about you but Shay collection makes it all better for me to cope with the colder weather and shorter days! It has the right mix of colours!
Felicity Jane materials are so pretty but I guess lots of you might think they are mostly girly orientated. Well, they are (because who doesn't like pink and flowers, right) but I will show you today that you can easily create a "boys layout" as well! All that thanks to the black and white papers that are included in every single kit plus the right choice of embellishments.
I had this cute photo of my son and his friend for ages. Since it is football themed then I had this idea to go for black and white with a few pops of mustard yellow. I don't have a cut out machine so I went for tracing two different sizes of hexagon on my 8,5x11 inch white cardstock and cutting them out with my precision pen (I can't even describe how many attempts I had trying to draw a regular hexagon. Hardest thing ever!)
Before I started backing up the individual hexagons I made a few splatters with black ink. This is a real challenge for me so I was really happy that it turned out how I intended it to. Two of the hexagons have a photo inside.
As for the embellishments, I used the cardstock puffy stickers arrows, some die cut shapes, puffy word phrases and black puffy alphabet from the Jaimee kit.
So there you go. One "boyish" layout for my son. Thank you for being here today and tell me: do you also use FJ kits for boys layouts?
