Hey crafty pals, I’m absolutely in love with the Mila kit, and so excited to share my first post using it!
I knew from the moment I saw the stamp set in this kit that I wanted to use it as the focus of my layout. I chose a black and white photo, and decided to go “fall in” with it… get it? Because the colors are super fall-esque? HA! Dad jokes forever.
Anywho, let’s get on to the layout! I started by stamping the gorgeous floral stamps on some of the patterned papers, as well as the solid pieces. Then, I started the long process of fussy cutting them out. I’ll be honest, it was a lot of work, but when I look at the finished product it was SO worth it!!
After fussy cutting them out, I layered them down the side of my 8.5x11 sheet of card stock, varying the colors as I went. I only put glue in the center of the flowers so the edges would lift as I layered, giving the layout texture and dimension.
From there, the layout came together quickly. I added some watercolor where my photo was going to go, then layered few of my favorite papers and that gorgeous Mila wash tape behind my photo because y’all know how much I love my layers. Then used a piece from the die cuts and a foam sticker for a bold title.
Around the right edge of the photo I tucked a few flowers that I stamped on white card stock and watercolored with colors from the Mila color palette. This tied the layout together made everything feel cohesive.
To finish it off, I scattered wood veneer hearts and stars, as well as some silver, gold, and black FJ star sequins. Then, I used those same watercolors I used behind the photo to add some splatters!
Like I said, once the stamping and fussy cutting were done, this layout came together so quickly and I couldn’t be more in love with the outcome!
I’d love to know - what was your favorite item in the Mila kit? Do you ever use a stamp set as the focus of your layout? Let’s chat in the comments below!
