Hello everyone, it’s Lindsey! I’m continuing to create some layouts in my faith binder to give myself some creative places to journal out my prayers and it’s a great way to use all of my favorite pieces from the Katherine Collection from last month! This layout can easily be modified for a more traditional scrapbooking page or even a TN layout. Be sure to check out the process video at the end of this post to see how the layout came together.
One of my favorite pieces from the Katherine Collection are the vellum frames. I wanted to challenge myself to use as many as I could on this layout to add some fun interest and texture.
The base of pages is the spotted paper that I cut down to fit in the Note to Self binder. I then cut down the pink paper and some white cardstock to be slightly smaller than the base pages and added some stitching detail (these are not stitched to the base). When adhering these to the bases, I only added tape to the sides and bottom of the white cardstock to create a hidden pocket for my prayer journaling.
I added some patterned paper and tissue paper behind my photo and then used that cluster to hold down the two vellum frames. Vellum can be a little tricky since you can see glue and tape through it so I sandwiched them between the page and the photo so I didn’t have to try and hide adhesive.
There was still a lot of empty space on this page so I added some die cuts, puffy stickers, and a mini paperclip to bring in a little more yellow and to fill out the page a little.
I had a scrap piece of the pink paper that was sized perfectly to create a tall tag to stick into the hidden pocket. I’ll add my prayer journaling to this and then tuck it in where it isn’t so easily read.
For the other page, I stapled one of the vellum frames onto this “happy” journaling card and trimmed everything down so that they were the same size.
Those labels from the Katherine Collection are another favorite of mine! I used the Katherine stamp to do some repetitive stamping with “Sunday” so that the card would now read “happy Sunday”. This page was finished off with some more die cuts and a date stamp.
I love how this layout came together and I have plenty of room to journal my prayers over my family and husband as this photo was taken on Father’s Day. Check out the process video for more details and head on over to the shop to grab some beautiful Katherine products!
Until next time!
<3 Lindsey
