Hey there lovely people
Danielle here with another project for you. This week it’s my favourite day – Mix-It Monday!
I love Mix-It Monday challenges as I get to combine beautiful FJ kits to create a spread with a medley of yum. Today I’m mixing the bright birthday Tori kit with the equally scrummy Sarah kit.
The Sarah kit feels so summery and the mix of yellows and blues works so nicely with the softer blues and yellows in the Tori kit.
After pouring all the parts of both kits onto my desk, I decided to do a TN spread using a sheet of polka dot paper from Sarah and a whole bunch of the die cuts from Tori.
I found a recent black and white photo of myself and decided to use the ‘happy happy happy’ die cut along with a puffy word from Sarah to make my title page. I layered the title over a cute doily from my stash, added the date to a die cut and added a sweet Tori puffy bow sticker to finish it off.
I kept my right-hand page white and clean to leave a space for journaling and also to create some contrast to the busy paper I used on the left-hand page. I layered one of the gorgeous roses (that I fussy cut from the floral Tori paper) underneath my photo and then added a little die cut, paper clip and button cluster along with a cute strip of the yellow washi tape to my photo.
As a finishing touch, I punched out a tag using one of the Tori journal cards and tucked it behind my photo as a secondary option for some hidden journaling.
