Hello! Mandy here with you today to share a layout that I created with the gorgeous September Felicity kit. The first layout that I created with this kit was very feminine, so this time around I decided to create a more 'boyish' themed page.
I documented a photo of my son and I at his 2nd birthday party. (He's now 9 years old, so this was 7 years ago).
I decided to create a monochromatic layout by just picking out the aqua items in the kit, and teaming them up with lots of black and white. I think this creates quite a striking colour palette.
Here are some closeups so that you can see all of the details...
I decided to make use of the card that Jeana sent with my kit last month by fussy cutting the word 'hello' out of it (I first took a photo of the lovely message that Jeana wrote it!). I added some foam tape to the back to give it some extra dimension, and I used this as part of my title. Underneath the right hand side of my photo you can see that I tucked a tag from the cut apart sheet, as well as a tab, which I added the date to. I also popped a flair button on the right hand side of the photo... I'm addicted to the beautiful Felicity Jane flair buttons!
To complete my title, I used the lovely chipboard alphas from the kit as well as the black alphabet stickers which you can purchase as an add on. I love combining different alphas to create titles on my layouts.
I created a small cluster of embellishments up in the top left hand corner of the layout using a couple of the word stickers from the cut apart sheet and another flair button.
I finished the layout off by sprinkling some star sequins diagonally down the page. I also added a few stars that I fussy cut from the patterned paper.
Thanks for joining me on the blog today! I'll be back next week with another project using the Felicity kit!
