Hi everyone! Mandy here with you today to share a traveler’s notebook spread that I created using the gorgeous Heidi kit! Although I had already seen all of the sneaks of this kit before it arrived on my doorstep, when I actually unpacked it, I was seriously in awe of how beautiful it all is! The colors are stunning, and as always, the florals are SO PRETTY! I just couldn’t wait to jump right in and get creating with all of these goodies.
I created this spread in my personal traveler’s notebook insert, which I’m using to document things about ME! To be honest, I don’t often create layouts just about me. I have lots of me with my kids and with my husband, but just not many of me on my own. Admittedly I find it a little hard, but I figured that maybe it would be easier to do it in a traveler’s notebook because it’s on a smaller scale! And so I decided that I would dedicate this TN insert to documenting things about my life right now!
I covered the left hand side of the spread with the lovely chevron patterned paper. To be honest, it pained me a little bit to use this patterned paper because the reverse side is the floral paper, which I absolutely LOVE and want to hoard, but I really liked the clean and fresh look that the chevron paper gave to the page, so I decided to go ahead and use it! Down the middle edge of that page I also added a thin strip of the little plus patterned paper, as well as the striped branding strip off that paper, and the scallop branding strip off the mustard solid color paper. I love those scallop branding strips!
I created a cluster of pretty die cuts on the left hand page, and also added my title there as well. Included in the cluster are a couple of labels that were from previous kits. One is from the Emeline die cut label pack, and the other is from the London one. (The Emeline Die Cut Labels are still available to purchase in the Felicity Jane shop – see the link at the bottom of this post). On top of the labels I layered the ‘hello’ die cut from the Heidi Die Cut Shapes pack, and then I added one of the word stickers from the Kate kit to the smaller label. I finished the cluster off with one of the beautiful Heidi floral die cuts. I also added a few of the diamond shaped die cuts and wood veneer confetti to the left hand page.
I love using the 3x4 journaling cards in my traveler’s notebooks, and this one added the perfect sentiment to this spread!
I layered my photo on top of one of the beautiful designer pockets, and tucked one of the tags from the kit inside the pocket. I plan to add some journaling to this tag, using the phrase ‘finding the beauty in my journey’ as a prompt. I like that this can then be hidden inside the pocket! I also tucked another pretty floral die cut under the left hand side of the photo.
If you’d like to check out how this spread came together, I also have a process video that you can watch!
Thanks so much for joining me today! I’ll be back here on the blog next week to share another project using the lovely Heidi kit!
