"Hello" Masculine Layout | Kim Jeffress

Welcome back to the Felicity Jane blog. I just adore the feminine colours and icons in the Heidi kit this month but sometimes I like to challenge myself and create a masculine page or two with the kits. I have had this photo of my husband and his car that he hired from Las Vegas when we visited back in January just waiting to be scrapped. The rust colors in the photo were a tricky combo to use until I found that rust color in the solid papers. I knew it would be a perfect match. I teamed it with the woodgrain paper from the kit and added in a piece of white cardstock from my stash to create the base of my layout.

I wanted to emulate the mountains in the back ground of the photo so I hand drew and cut my mountain out of the Rust solid paper, leaving the scallop at the bottom to form the base of the mountain. I then took one of the journaling 3x4 cards and hand drew the top of the mountain on the back of the card. It was the perfect way to complement my mountain image.

I then used some of the stamps from the Heidi Stamp set to create a word border across the bottom of my photo. I love this affect and I will definitely be doing it again.

To complete my layout I added some of the Heidi Die cut shapes in and around my mountain. I used pop dots for extra dimension. I then used some of the wood veneer confetti to serve as small water droplets. I like the masculine feel it adds to my layout.

I hope I have inspired you to think a little outside the box and use the Heidi Kit for your masculine photos as well. Til next time…

Kim
