"Hello Spring" Layout | Anne Keller

"Hello Spring" Layout | Anne Keller

Hey friends, Anne here with my first Jaimee layout. I love the fresh colors. Perfect for spring pages.

This layout is very simple with a big focus on the layered photo. I created a tutorial about how this page came together. You'll find it on IG Story @felicityjane today.

I started with a square photo and my favorite Jaimee design papers. I layered them under my photo and added some folded tissue paper, a vellum pocket, 2 tags and 1 clip. These plus tabs are my most favorite embellishments, because they're so versatile. I use some of them on nearly every page. Creating with this photo wasn't easy, because of the green and brown. I took the challenge and edited the photo first: crop the format, brighten it and take some of the color. After that I chose papers with contrasting colors plus sone neutrals.

My layered staple always has got dimension. I love to incorporate different materials and textures. And I like the gently sizzling noise of the tissue paper. So I use it for nearly every layering. If you incorporate a pocket, you have a great place for hidden journaling or some flat ephemera. Take your time to build your layers. It's a work of love.

Something I love too: printing my journaling on vellum. The vellum helps to create this light and airy feeling. And you have the chance to let something peek through the transparent paper like some splatters, a stamping or a heat-embossed stamp. All the possibilities...

The title is combined with a puffy sticker and the word spring, glued down on a tab. I love combinations of different materials, dimensions and fonts to create my title. Just the date on the photo and one flower to decorate it and my layout is done. Don't forget to watch the IG Story today for a step-by-step tutorial.

I created a second layout with this tutorial. Nearly the same steps, but a totally different look. I just mirrored the page design. Both pages are easy, only the layering and some little details. Give it a try and create a lovely staple of beautiful elements. I'd love to see your projects!

Anne,

I love how you used the vellum for journaling. I am getting ready to use vellum, which I have never used, for my eldest granddaughter, Bella’s album.

I had wondered about having designs on the page behind the vellum, which is what I wanted to do myself. Any suggestions, helpful hints, etc. would be so wonderful to receive.

Have a blessed evening and thank you for sharing your spreads,
Kathleen
