Hey crafty pals, Suzanna here! I’m super excited to share this outdoor themed layout with you today! I pushed myself outside of my comfort zone in every aspect of this layout, and I am so glad I did!
I decided to try out a grid pattern with this layout, and use the tags/pockets to hide my journaling. I started out by layering patterned paper behind my photos and arranged the photos in a way that created a pinwheel-style grid.
Then I added my journaling on the tags and added the pockets to the grid layout. I love that I know the journaling is there, but at first glance, you don’t know it’s there.
Using a puffy sticker and puffy alphas, I created my simple title on the top right of my page. I slightly overlapped the title on my photo to make it feel like it belonged on the layout, rather than it just floating at the top of the page.
Once those things were done, I had the base of my layout complete. From there, it was all about embellishing. I used a variety of embellishments and went a little embellishment crazy, but I actually really love the way it turned out and I don’t feel like it’s too busy at all!
I also took a stab at stamping right on my photo. This is something I’ve done a handful of times in the past, but I’ve never been able to master it, so I tend to steer clear. Since I was already giving myself multiple challenges with this layout, I figured why not give it a go! As you can see, I smudged it before it was dry, but I still like the way it turned out.
Overall I really love the way this layout turned out and I am so glad I pushed myself to try new things!
I hope this gave you inspiration for a future layout, and if you haven’t done so in a while, I challenge you to push yourself outside of your comfort zone and try something new!
If you have any tips for me for stamping on photos, feel free to leave them below! I’d love to get better at that and incorporate it in my projects more in the future! Don’t forget to tag your photos with #FelicityJane on Instagram so I can see what you’re creating!

The best thing I ever invested in was the stamping platform by Tim Holtz. You can stamp over and over to get it just the way you want and it lines up every time. That being said. You just have to have patience when waiting for ink to dry….which is not always my strong suit. :D
