Henley Color Coordinated | Adelina Starace

Hello all, I’m back! Today I’m sharing a layout I did for my Coffee Album of Koffi in Palm Springs, CA. I’m using the Henley physical kit. I’m adding this to a 6x8 album where I document coffee beans I’ve tried and coffee shops I’ve visited. If you read my post on March 5th, I shared a little about my coffee album.

Today I wanted to talk a little about how I pull together my color-coordinated layouts. When I receive my Felicity Jane monthly kit in the mail and I open it up, one of the first things I do is separate the supplies. I pull out the die cuts, any embellishments and lay them out in piles based on color. Then I pull out my photos for my layout and decide which pile works best with the colors in my photographs. It’s not always about finding an exact match; sometimes it’s about just finding something that compliments the colors in my layout.

As you can see from the photos I selected for this layout, there isn’t any green in any of my photos. However the tone of the green color just appealed to me as a desert tone I saw a lot in Palm Springs, so I just went with it.

After all my photos were selected and I had my pile of die cuts and embellishments, I started cutting down my ephemera. In this case it was a coffee sleeve. I added a paper clip + die cut out with a sentiment to the coffee sleeve pocket. For the next pocket I added some journaling to a photo in Photoshop and stapled a die cut label + sticker to it.

I adhered one of my favorite cup photos from the trip to a journal card. I used some pinking scissors for a finished look on the washi and adhered it to the top of the photo. I had to force myself to use that gold polka dot washi because I really just want to hoard it! It’s so pretty.

I finished off the layout by using the Basics Lowercase Stamp Set to add the café location to a journal card. Then I just added a date stamp under the “palm springs”. You really can’t go wrong with a good alpha stamp set in your collection! I use them a lot to personalize my layouts when my stamps sets don’t have the sentiment or details I need for my layout.

Happy crafting peeps!
