I Am Loved | Banning Lane

When I first got my September's "Felicity" kit in the mail and saw all the heart details, I knew exactly what story I wanted to document. Today I am going to be sharing that layout with you

First, here is a look at my finished project:

These photos are ones that I took at my little girls annual cardiology appointment. As you can see, all those hearts just worked perfectly.

I have said in the past that the Felicity Jane kits are perfect to use when telling the difficult stories of life. They really just let the stories shine through in the most beautiful way.

Going into this layout I knew I wanted to use the minty blue paper that had the cutest little hearts on it. I absolutely LOVE that some of the hearts have little black polka dots in them. I also knew that I wanted to create a grid with my photos and some other papers that came in the kit.

I wanted a good chunk of my background paper to show, so I decided to focus the grid design towards the bottom of my layout. I love the way it turned out!

I had the most fun deciding what papers and embellishments I would use in the 3 spots of my grid that weren't pictures. I just played around with a little bit of everything until I liked the look of it. This process always takes me forever, but it is so much fun so I don't mind.

This story of my daughters cardiology appointment is one that I tell every year. The photos that I use on each layout are basically the same except my daughter obviously gets a little older each year. To keep these layouts unique from each other, I try to switch up my story telling approach. This year I decided to write a letter to my daughter about my feelings going into and coming out of this appointment. To keep the personal and intimate feeling of that letter, I decided to create a pocket to tuck it into. To do this I simply sewed my grid design down instead of using adhesive. All I need to do know is print up my journaling, and add it to a piece of patterned paper that I already have tucked into that pocket.
