Hello everyone!
Mandy here with you today for 'Mix-It Monday'! This is something new that we've started this month, where each Monday we'll be showing you how we've combined the current kit with older kits! Super fun right?! And a great way to use up your stash! So for my layout today, I decided to pull out some patterned papers that I had left over from the Megan kit, and I combined them with embellishments from the beautiful Bailey kit! I think they match perfectly, and all of those yummy colours worked beautifully with this sweet photo of my youngest daughter Eleanor eating ice cream!
I started off with a sheet of FJ white cardstock, and I layered some of those lovely rainbow coloured patterned papers from the Megan collection on the background. I cut them to various widths and lengths, but made sure that when I adhered them that they were all centred across the page, as I wanted all of the main elements on the page to run down the centre. I added some machine stitching through a couple of the patterned papers to give the layout some more texture.
Next I added some layers behind my photo using patterned papers from both the Bailey and Megan kits, and a Bailey journaling card. I adhered the photo using craft foam, to help it to really pop off the page! I also tucked a little label from the Bailey kit under the bottom edge of the photo, which I used to add the date of the photo to.
At the top of the page I adhered the die cut with the cute row of colourful hearts from the Bailey kit, and underneath that I added the 'you're sweet' chipboard piece. For my title I used the lovely Bailey Puffy Alphabet Stickers to add the words 'Ice Cream' above the photo, and then I adhered the 'love' puffy title from the Jenny kit across the bottom of the photo.
I added a sprinkling of little embellishments from the Bailey collection around the page, including the sequins, heart beads, and little chipboard heart stickers. These remind me of sprinkles on ice cream, and they also add some lovely detail to the layout. I finished the page off with a beautiful bow using the yellow Essentials Cotton Ribbon.
Thanks so much for joining me here on the blog today! I hope that you've been inspired by 'mixed kit' layout!
This is actually quite a sad post for me as I am stepping down from the team at the end of this month, and this will be my last blog post. Unfortunately, due to increased work commitments this year, I've had to make the difficult decision to take a break from my design team commitments for the moment. I have absolutely LOVED being on the Felicity Jane team for the past three and a half years, and I can't thank Jeana enough for giving me this amazing opportunity. I also want to thank my fellow creative team members, who inspire me so much with their beautiful creations every month, and of course to all of YOU, our lovely customers and followers, who always take the time to like our projects and leave encouraging comments. I'll still be creating projects using my beautiful FJ products, and sharing them over on Instagram, and in the FJ Facebook groups, so I would love to stay connected with you all there!
