Hi friends - I hope you had a great weekend and were able to get some quality crafty time!
Today I would like to share a page with you that includes all the things I love when it comes to scrapbooking - can you guess what I mean?
Quick background story for my inspiration for the page - I was recently scrolling instagram - because let's just be honest, 70% of my crafty time consists of binge - watching old shows and stalking the internet - and found a chalkart that gave me all the heart eyes! I love the instagram of lily and val (@lilyandval). They share the most gorgoeus chalkart and recently shared a picture of a quote which was beautiful and I immediatly knew that I just had to use it as a title for one of my pages! So that is how this title came together ;)
If you happen to know my way of scrapping, you may be aware that I am hugely obsessing over my Silhouette and love to use cut files on projects.
Therefore I gave my trusty buddy a little workout to cut out a bunch of leaves out of the amazing papers from Emeline! The woodgrain paper and the blue and yellow are my all time favorites! This kit could also be named Laureen - because it is just me in paper form!
The leaves measure about 3 inch in height and if you don't happen to have a digital cutting machine - don't worry! You can still achieve the look of some amazing fall leaves.
Just use your pencil and a piece of scratch paper and either sketch out a few different leave shapes and then just trace them onto your paper or search for images of basic leave shapes online and print them as your template. I believe Elsie also found a way, you can print your images from the Silhouette store once you purchased them without using a cutting machine - then you simply cut them with scissors or a craft knife ;)
Your leaves also don't need to have the little "branch" details, you are perfectly fine just using the outline. Otherwise you could use a craft knife and try to work your magic ;)
Another thing I absolutely love to do on layouts is to stitch!
For this page I knew I wanted to stitch my title, the quote that inspired this page! But stitching the entire thing would have overwhelmed everything and so I picked two words - autumn and colors - and stitched those.
Whenever I stitch a font, I love to use the one called Bromello and use my Silhouette - again - and the Sketch pen feature to draw my guide for where I need to pierce holes.
You can also use your word programme on your computer, write out the word in the font you'd like and print it and you have a little template that guides you where to pierce your holes.
After all the poking was done, I picked three different autumnal colors - in this case yellow, orange and a shade in between - out of my watercolor pencils and drew in the two words.
With a little bit of water I blend the color and then used matching colored thread to stitch my words using a very simple backstitch.
Once my two words were stitched - which took a little longer than it should, hello binge- watching - I went to adhere down my leaves in a circle/ wreath shape around my page.
I used a precision tip with my glue, which I would absolutely recommend adhering such detailed and small pieces.
Now it was time for my favorite part - embellishing - I used the Puffy Stickers from the kit, the Enamel dots, a few pieces from the Cut Apart sheet and the little star from the stamp set here and there.
For my title I used the AMAZING puffy Alphas and spelled out the quote - Autumn paints in colors summer has never seen - the "has never" is my handwriting.
I hope I could inspire you to take the trusty Pinterest or instagram finds and turn them into a scrapbook page like I did with the quote!
Have a great day and Happy Halloween -
don't get too scared and stay safe!
xo, Laureen
