Hi everyone!
I’m starting out the year by jumping straight into my pocket page scrapping. I love this format for documenting the everyday stuff that goes on in our family and this year I’m determined to stay up to date and get at least one spread done for each month. I’ve chosen the gorgeous Felicity Jane Noel 6 x 8 inch Black Polkadot Album to use for this year’s documenting.
Today I’m sharing with you my January pages (so far) featuring the ever so pretty Madison Kit!
I had four photos picked out to use in this spread…just everyday moments that I snapped a picture of over recent days. Then I went ahead and selected four of the Madison Journaling Cards to fill the other spaces in the spread.
I used the dark grid card as a mat for the first part of my journaling. I kept it really simple, just adding a machine stitched border around the edge of the white cardstock. For the photo to the right of the journaling, I used the Madison Black Puffy Alphas to add the words ‘school holidays’ down the left side since there was a large white space where the cupboard is in our kitchen is.
At the bottom of the first page, I stamped the month and year directly onto the photo using the FJ Roller Date Stamp and StazOn ink so it wouldn’t smudge on the glossy surface.
To the right of the photo I used the super fun pie chart journaling card! I used my typewriter to type out the four main things we’ve all been doing during the holidays and allocated them each to a section on the chart, then I hand stitched a line from each word to the segment, and added machine stitching to each word for more texture. To finish it off I added a die cut heart to the centre using a foam dot. I love how it turned out!
Over at the top of the second page, I added a die cut label and Jenny word sticker to the top of the photo along with a black miniwide paper clip. For the floral card to the right, I stamped ‘everyday moments’ from the Essentials No 1 Stamp Set onto white cardstock, cut it out and added it to the card before machine stitching across it.
For the last two pockets, I cut the journaling into a tag shape, stitched around the tag and added twine to the hole at the top, then adhered it to the pretty hearts card. I kept the photo very simple and stapled the heart tab die cut to the top left.
You can watch my process in the video below...
Are you creating pocket pages this year? I’m so happy to have made a start and I look forward to sharing more with you as the months go by.
I’ll see you here again soon! Enjoy your day!
