Hi friends! Today I want to share with you some Christmas cards that I created using the AMAZING ‘Joy’ kit! There’s nothing quite like a handmade card to show someone you care, don’t you think? I know that I always appreciate the time and effort when a friend gives me a card that they’ve made themselves. So today I have some inspiration for your Christmas card making, and these designs are super quick and easy to create, which is always a bonus during the busy Christmas period!
For this first card, I used one of the designer vellum sheets to cover most of the card, just leaving a small section at the bottom. I then adhered the red scallop branding strip across the bottom of the piece of vellum, and also added a decorative trim for extra detail. Lastly I stamped a sentiment at the bottom of the card using one of the ‘Joy’ stamps and some green ink.
To create this next card, I covered the top two thirds of the card with the floral patterned paper, and the bottom third with the dots (which is on the reverse side of the floral paper). I then added a black and white striped ribbon across where the two papers joined. I really love the texture that ribbons and trims add! To finish this card off, I simply stamped the word ‘joy’ three times onto the back of one of the journaling cards, using green, black and red ink. I then adhered the journaling card using foam tape to give it some extra dimension.
This next card is super easy to make! First I covered the card with the gingham patterned paper. I then adhered the journaling card that says ‘Happy Christmas’ to the centre of the card, once again using foam tape for dimension. I added a black outline around the journaling card to help it to really stand out. Lastly I tied a ribbon around the journaling card to give it some additional texture and interest.
The last card that I created is a little more detailed, but still easy, and it looks really effective! First I covered the card with the beautiful woodgrain patterned paper. Then I decided that I wanted to add lots of circles! I did this by firstly adding a few of the chipboard circles and then I repeated the circular pattern by die-cutting some circles from the patterned papers and solid colored papers from the kit. I finished the card off by stamping the word ‘Joy’ and adding a few of the die cut shapes.
Thanks so much for joining me on the blog today! I hope that you’ve been inspired to make some Christmas cards of your own to give to your loved ones!
