"Joy" Envelope Pocket Page | Sheree Forcier
Hello friends!
Today I’m sharing another page from my 2022 December album featuring the super fun Ivy Kit. I’m really loving the process of preparing pages ready for photos and journaling when December comes around!
This page was inspired by the cute envelopes that come in the Ivy Card Set (Brights).
Inside the white envelope it’s lined with a gorgeous red gingham pattern! I thought about using one of the envelopes open as a pocket on the page, however it was a little big to fit onto the page in my 6 x 8 album, I decided to make my own white envelope from cardstock and use the envelope lining inside.
I used an envelope cutting board to make my white cardstock envelope 5.25” x 3 7/8”. I trimmed the card set envelope lining down a little so it would fit inside my new envelope with a nice white border and stitched around the edge to add a little texture.
Included in the card set is a cute card with the word “Joy” on the front. I cut out each letter and added them to the front of my envelope. I’m planning on using this page to document when I send my Christmas cards to friends and family so I stamped the phrase “happy mail” from the Ivy Stamp Set onto a scrap of white cardstock and adhered it to the wreath.
The envelope was adhered to the front of a 7” x 8.25” piece of clear acetate with 6 holes punched down the left side. This way it looks like the envelope is ‘floating’ in the album.
Inside the envelope I have tucked the calendar journaling card, an enlarged printed candy cane from the Ivy Stocking Bundle Printables & Cut Files, and a white piece of cardstock with an Ivy Sticker in the top right corner. I adore how these stickers look like cute stamps which was perfect for the theme of this page!
Once December comes, I will add journaling to this white cardstock piece and also tuck a photo into the envelope too. I also used a chipboard flair to add the number ‘8’ to the candy cane since this will be day 8 in my album.
Of course, since this page has a transparent background I had to think about what I could do on the back! I cut a piece of grid patterned paper the same dimensions and shape as the opened envelope to create another little pocket page for day 9.
I stitched a piece of vellum to the bottom of the grid piece to create a pocket, then added a die cut shape, a chipboard number, the chipboard word confetti piece “tradition” and a strip that I typed on my typewriter. I also tucked the Christmas tree journaling card inside the pocket.
I will be using this page to document some Christmas shopping and our annual donation to the Kmart Wishing Tree which Madi and I love doing each year.
I’m so happy to have these pages ready in my album and I love how they turned out! I hope I’ve inspired you to make one for your own album too.
Thank so much for stopping by the blog and have a happy day!
