Hi everyone!
Are you ready for another sketch challenge? I am! Seeing a new sketch and how each person chooses to interpret it with their own ideas is always so fun!
Creative Team Member Ulrike Dold has created this inspiring new sketch for us this month. Let's take a look...
Here's Ulli to tell us about the sketch and the gorgeous layout she has put together...
Hi FJ friends!
Ulli here with you and today we have the July sketch challenge for you! I always do the layout first and make with this template my sketch. I don’t know, but this is much easier for me. This time I was so inspired by the lemons from the Lemons & Stripes paper and I did a lot of fussy cutting with them. I also was so inspired by the super cute tassel banner from the Amanda Die Cut Shapes and the super sweet Hearts of the Spots & Hearts paper.
I decided to use pictures from our last big vacation last summer, because the Amanda collection with its summery and fresh colors and motives is just perfect for summer and vacation projects. I hope you like my page!
I cut a paper strip to 3.5 inch from the Spots & Hearts paper and placed it on the right side of my 12x12 page. Then I arranged my three pictures - I always love to mix colored and black and white pictures - and added the wonderful lemons from the middle of the bottom to the left side on the top of the layout. Around my pictures I also added lemons. I often use 3D dots to add some dimension.
For the title I also glued three lemons on the left side of my page and used the "Life" Die Cut Shape and the super cute black Amanda Puffy Alphabet. I added the adorable Amanda Die Cut tassel banner on my picture above and used some more of the wonderful Amanda Die Cut Shapes to decorate the page. My second Die cut shape is the wonderful yarn rainbow. It was so perfect to hang it on one of my pictures. I used the amazing Amanda Stamp set to add some cute summer phrases here and there and added the date with the FJ roller date stamp.
At the end I splattered black ink across the page and finished off my page with the super cute Amanda Puffy Shapes and the Brooke Puffy Shapes with Tiny Dots.
And now have fun with the amazing projects of my super talented team mates and their versions of my sketch.
xx, Ulli

Now we have Creative Team Member Lindsey Lanning with a pretty project she created using the sketch...
Since Felicity Jane florals are one of my absolute favorite things on this planet (LOL), I had to get a little creative with this sketch since I’ve used up most of my floral stash. I decided to document some photos of flowers in my A5 notebook where I’ve been journaling some of the things that bring me joy. I mixed in some butterflies that I stamped and die cut with the Megan Stamps and Dies to mimic the trail of florals in the sketch. I moved the title cluster up on the opposite page to give me some room to journal and stamped some more butterflies to help it tie in with the photo page. Super simple layout to put together but a fun way to get more than one photo on the page!

Team Member Danielle Menage-Jensen has also created a beautiful spread using the sketch!
Danielle here, sharing my take on the sketch challenge using the absolutely gorgeous Amanda kit. Ulrike put together this month’s sketch and it’s a total stunner so I wanted to make sure I did it justice.
I decided to create a spread in my journal but still follow the format of the sketch. Instead of photos and a falling cluster of die cuts, I punched and stapled hearts out of the coloured paper with layered vellum. I topped them with the puffy numbers to create a little list of my summer plans.
On the left-hand page, I used a big sheet of the yummy heart paper and created a little title cluster. I wrapped thread around some wooden letters to create my ‘ME’ and used the puffy alphas for the ‘right now’ along with some little labels and die cuts.
I hope you enjoy what I’ve created and I’m super excited to see what you put together using the sketch.

Finally we have team member Tiffany Julia to share this lovely layout with us...
Hey everyone!
Here's my take on Ulli's sketch for this month. I used one photo of my beautiful mother on my layout, instead of three. To be fair, I couldn't find three photos whose colors worked well with the Amanda kit that I hadn't already scrapped! So I made do with the one photo, keeping with the overall composition of the sketch and focusing on the scattered floral element. Except, I used butterflies I fussy cut from the different pattern papers instead! I simply layered them together, adding a vellum layer in between the pattern papers, and sewing them down the middle with some white thread. That way I could easily lift up the wings to create this beautiful dimension. I just love the dimensional look the butterflies add to the layout! They make it look like the entire layout is alive with a lot of action. I sprinkled a few of the bitty puffy stickers about the page as well, which only added to the flurry of movement. I'm very pleased at how this turned out! What a wonderful sketch!
