Hello FJ Friends!
Are you ready for a new sketch challenge? I know I am! Using a sketch as inspiration for the base of your page design is the perfect way to get those creative juices flowing...especially when you're just not feeling that creative! You can follow the sketch exactly or mix it up and put your own spin on it...either way it's such a great way to get started on a project!
Our sketch this month has been put together my Creative Team Member Lydia...and it's fabulous!
Here's Lydia to tell us all about the gorgeous layout she created with her sketch...
This sketch was so fun to create. I actually based this sketch on one of my really old layouts, so it was really fun to transition it with this month’s amazing FJ Katherine goodies. I played around with a bunch of digital mixed media textures in the sketch, so I planned to emulate that with some white gesso and color shines. I don’t mix medias very often with my FJ goodies, so it was really nice to get a change of pace. I copied my sketch by stitching on patterned papers at the angles. I then layered on gesso and paint splatters behind my photo and papers. For the areas on each edge of the sketch, I chose to rip up the stitched edges to get a pretty peek at the blue underside of the papers. It made the perfect place to nestle in that cute Katherine tag. I finished off by stacking on some florals and tucking in my hidden journaling card. I really love how this fun layout turned out!

Next up we have team member Jana to share the beautiful page she created...
Sketch challenges are my favourite posts! And the sketch Lydia created is fabulous. What I like about the sketches so much is that all the thinking about composition and embellishment has been done for me so I can fully concentrate on having fun crafting. Yay!
As soon as I saw the zig-zag lines I knew I would be sewing! I cheated a bit on that mixed media background and went for the layering instead BUT I went for the ink splatters and it was so much fun! Despite the fact that I usually add those at the end of the process and pray that I won't mess it all up!
As you can see I used a vellum frame for backing the photo. I actually cut this one in half! I know! But this way I have an interesting background and can use the second half of the frame again in one of my future projects!
The puffy alphabet is probably my most favourite. Mind you I love all the black and white ones but these colours are just so pretty and refreshing and the font is gorgeous. I also used the Metal Die Set to create the tags.
I can't wait to see what YOU create with this pretty sketch!

Let's now take a look at what team member Anna has created using the sketch...
Hi everyone!
It's Anna and today I'm sharing my take on the cool Lydia's sketch! To recreate it, I chose these three papers that go so well together and made a zig-zag stitch with my sewing machine. I put a bit of gesso in the background and blurred it with my finger. On top of it, I made some splatters with watercolors.
My picture is 4x4 and I layered it with different papers and a piece of vellum. Like in the sketch, I placed two little clusters on both sides of the page, using some die cuts and puffy stickers. Finally, I stamped some hearts to give a little pop of black to match the title.
It was so fun! Can't wait to see your versions!

Creative Team Member Tina has also made a pretty project using the sketch as inspiration...
Hello everyone, it's Tina! And here's my take on this month's sketch! Lydia created such a lovely sketch, and it was so much fun to work with it! According to the sketch I started by creating a background for my layout using three different pattern papers from the Katherine kit. After that I backed the photo with a piece of mint paper and embellished them with a few die cuts from the kit. On the left and right sides of the page I added tags and a label to match the sketch. And in the end I created a title using Katherine puffy alphabet stickers and Basics Lowercase stamp set.
I hope you will enjoy playing with the sketch and will share your creations on Instagram using hashtag #fjsketchchallenge or on the Felicity Jane Facebook group!

We also have team member Ulli here to share her wonderful page with us...
I love our monthly FJ sketch challenge and I also had to make a page for it. I used a picture from our last FJ Creative Team collage to keep this special memory in my scrapbooking album from 2020. I turned the sketch upside down and used only two big triangles with the Floral & Spots and the Berry & Dot papers, because I wanted to get a light look with much white space on my scrapbooking layout. I used the wonderful Katherine collection and some embellishments from the following collections: Megan, Hope, Bailey, Jenny, Grace, Jeana, Brooke and Denise. I used a FJ packaging from FJ Die Cut shapes, covered it with a paper scrap from a striped Hope paper (Floral & Stripes), punched little holes in the bottom of it and made a cute little string with the adorable "Chapter No 6" die cut form the Katherine collection, some Megan Tiny Tags and a Jenny chipboard star. For my 5th term in the FJ creative team I needed the number 5 and so I used the pretty white Rebekah Puffy Alphabet sticker to cover the number 6 on the key chain. I added the picture with 3 D dots in the packaging and I love how it turned out. I loved mixing so many FJ collections while decorating my page and I had so much fun while creating.

I've also been busy putting a layout together using Lydia's sketch! Here's what I came up with...
I decided to flip the sketch horizontally for my page...so the larger triangle section is on the left side instead of the right. I blanket-stitched down the diagonal edge of the yellow patterned paper triangle, then back-stitched down the diagonal edge of the spotty paper using embroidery thread to add texture. The photo was matted with the striped paper to add more colour and tissue paper was layered underneath. The journaling was printed onto white cardstock and cut to a tag shape before being tucked under the left side of the photo and I decorated with Katherine Die Cut Shapes and the gorgeous Katherine Puffy Alphabet Stickers. For the smaller cluster to the right of the page, I used the Katherine Stamp Set, more die cuts and a date tag. To finish off the page I scattered three of the little starburst die cuts at the top right of the photo to break up the white space.
This sketch was so much fun to work with and my page came together so quickly and easily!
We'd love for you to have a go at creating with the sketch too! Please be sure to share it with us either on the FJ Facebook Page or on Instagram using #fjsketchchallenge. We cant wait to see what you come up with!
