Kate Kit Woven Patterns | Nancy Damiano
Hey there everyone, Nancy here today with a look at the beautiful Kate Kit. I've had this design idea about weaving a trio of colors on a scrapbook page floating around for a while. I was waiting for a color palette with the perfect solid colors and I finally found it!
I started this page by cutting two strips from each of the solids in the Kate kit. I simply wove those together using an under and over pattern, alternating with each strip. Start with three strips in front of you on an angle and then take a single strip and weave it over and under.
To balance out the boldness of the woven strips, create layers of patterned paper at the top of the layout. A bed of beautiful colors for your photo to sit on.
The journaling block is dressed up with a bit of the beautiful floral washi tape from this month's kit. The heart and label die cut overlap the photo and journaling block connecting the two items. The last touch is a bit of stamping with aqua ink.
All of the solid papers that come in the kit each month make for great woven embellishments. This is a simple idea with bold impact. Adding a few lines of stamped text tie the woven piece to the top of the layout. It's a great place to also add the date!
I hope this gives you some bright ideas for some great woven designs!
