Lady Lunch | Elizabeth Pear

Hello lovelies! I’m back this week with my second 12x12 layout using the March kit. This time I opted for the softer colors in the kit to make layout of my daughter and I on a special girls-only outing.

I know I’m certainly not the first to do this, but when I saw that gorgeous floral paper I could hear it whisper “Elizabeth, fussy cut me up and use me as embellishments” (tell me I’m not the only one that hears paper speak to them) so that’s exactly what I did.

I used the flowers as a bold element to frame either side of the photo and draw attention to my main focus: the picture.

The turquoise striped paper was a nice color compliment to the pink flowers and added some weight to the bottom of layout. A strip of the washi tape serves as a transition between the patterned paper and white cardstock.

To create some symmetry in the centered design, I used half the doily each on the top and bottom of the layout and finished it off with two of the sweet flair buttons. Some subtle gold splatters tie in the gold in the title and now I have another layout to add to our family album.

It’s been so much fun being this month’s guest designer! Thank you so much for taking a look at what I created with the Jane kit and I hope you enjoy playing with it yourself.
