Little Miss Sunshine Layout | Ulrike Dold

Hi everyone!

Ulli here with you today to share some inspiration using the gorgeous and colorful Brie Kit. This week we are sharing summer themed projects on the inspiration page and I've made a summer-y layout for it.

I challenged myself to make a summer themed layout with only the Brie Journaling cards and the Brie Embellishments. I am a embellishment lover and they are so important for me, but to work without any paper is not so easy as it seems.

For my layout I used a photo of our little girl from last June. It is at the children´s festival and I when I saw it I knew it was perfect for the Brie color scheme with pink and blue, but also with orange and green. When I held the fabric flags in my hands I had the idea to make a little banner with all the pretty embellishments. Do you also love banners as much as I do?

First I added my photo on the upper half of my white 12x12 cardstock. I glued the super pretty journaling card with the polka dots and the flowers diagonally below my photo and glued my journaling strips on it.

Then I made the banner. I used black baker's twine and threaded some die cut shapes and two fabric banners on it. Some of the die cut shapes I had to punch a hole in first and some embellishments I glued later on the thread. I also used one of the layering butterflies and a puffy sticker from the kit. I knotted the ends of the baker's twine and glued the banner on the left side against the journaling card. I used some pompoms from my stash to decorate the banner, because there are some cute pompom garlands in the Brie die cut shapes and they match perfectly with this kit.

Then I cut a flower cut file with my Silhouette Cameo and cut it in two pieces. I glued it under the left and the right side of my photo. On the right corner above I added the pretty colorful flower from the Brie die cut shapes. I made the title "Little Miss Sunshine" with the amazing FJ Basic Lowercase Stamp Set, the Brie Puffy Alphabet Stickers in black and the Brie Puffy Word "Sunshine". I love the mix of the fonts and that one word is stamped directly on the layout. It looks so playful and makes the title more interesting.

I splattered some gold ink on my page, then I added the date with a roller date stamp on a white paper strip and glued it on a Brie die cut shape. I added it with some foam dots on my photo to get more dimension. I really love the super cute chipboard flairs in black and white from the Brie Kit and I added three of them in a line above the journaling card and the black one with the arrow next to the title.

To finish off my page I added the cute puffy dots from the Brooke Puffy Shapes against my photo and the journaling card. The colors from these Puffy Shapes matches perfectly with the Brie Kit as well.

Thanks so much for joining me today. I can´t wait to show you my next project with the beautiful Felicity Jane supplies here next month.

Happy scrapping!

Ulli
