Hello FJ friends!
Mandy here on the blog today, and I'm sharing another layout using the beautiful Lindsey collection! With all of the 'love' themed bits and pieces throughout this kit, I couldn't resist creating a Valentine's Day layout, celebrating the love between my hubby and I! We actually started dating on Valentine's Day 21 years ago, so it is kind of a special day for us, and this year my hubby surprised me by taking me on a picnic. The Lindsey collection was perfect for documenting this selfie that we took on the day!
I started my layout off by trimming down my white cardstock background, and then matting it first with one of the solid color papers from the kit, and then with the hearts patterned paper. I also added some machine stitching around the page to give it some some nice texture.
The addition of the metal dies with the collection this month, has inspired me to pull out my manual die cutting machine and to start using it again! Are you like me, and have machines/tools that sometimes get forgotten? I decided to use it to create some layered flowers using both the Lindsey die set, as well as some dies from my stash. I cut a few different sized flowers out of the gorgeous Lindsey patterned papers (as well as one from the Brie kit), and layered them together.
I added some foam tape in between each of the layers in the flowers to give them lots of dimension. The smallest flower I cut using the cute flower die in the the Lindsey die set. (It actually has leaves on it, but I just trimmed the leaves off.) You can see that I finished each of the layered flowers off with a little heart from the silicone charms pack. Once I had adhered the three large flower to my layout, I also added a couple of Foam + Cardstock flower stickers to the background, as well as a few little die cut flowers.
For my title, I used the Lindsey stamp set to stamp the words 'Love Him', and then I completed the title with the die cut word 'always' which I adhered with foam tape. Underneath the title I added some strips of typed journaling.
I matted my photo with a yellow solid color paper from the Jill kit, which helps it to really pop. I also tucked a die cut tab under the right hand side of the photo, and I added another stamped sentiment underneath it. To finish the layout off I added a sprinkling of hearts using the epoxy heart stickers and a few tiny die cut hearts.
Thanks so much for popping by today! I hope that you enjoyed taking a look at my layout, and maybe you've been inspired to dust off a forgotten tool from your stash as well! I'll see you back here with some more inspiration next month. Until then, take care.
Mandy x
