Let's get this week started with a look at the brand new Reagan kit! This is a beautiful kit with a cozy color palette and a hint of winter. I combined both to create this layout highlighting one of my favorite photos from this season. The story is my countdown of how many more winters I have to go in the frozen northeast before we head south. I want to remember this (cold) time in our lives!
I started with a background of hearts bordered with a bold black and white stripe. I find that when working with soft colors like this light salmon, a strip of black and white make the color pop rather than fade into the background.
The focal point photo is border with this garland of snowflakes, hearts and enamel shapes. Alternating the shapes, sizes and colors gives it an eclectic look that's gives the layout some interest. The left end of the garland is topped off with a beautiful velvet bow.
The simple title is tucked just under the photo diagonally and gives the picture a bit of lift. A few tags tucked under the plaid paper add punches of color and contrasting shape to the design.
Just a few strips of journaling tell the story behind the page. It's my countdown of how many more winters we have to go in the frozen northeast before heading south. I want to remember this (cold) time in our lives! The Reagan kit was perfect for this story.
