Hi FJ friends!
Mandy here with you today to share my first project using the gorgeous Elizabeth kit! I created a traveler's notebook layout documenting some fun photos of my eldest daughter Abigail and my nephew Charlie. I love all of the cute summery icons throughout this kit, and when I saw that chipboard watermelon piece, I knew that it would be perfect for scrapbooking these photos!
I started my layout off by covering the left hand side of the spread with the tiny dots patterned paper. I love the subtle detail that this pattern adds to the page! Next I added my title using two of the words from the stamp set. I stamped the word 'love' using black ink, and I then cut it out and adhered it with craft foam to give it some extra dimension. Then I stamped the word 'summer' using yellow ink, and I added this underneath.
I knew that I wanted to make a feature of that chipboard watermelon piece, so I added it underneath my title. I love the way that it really pops and stands out against all of the black and white elements on that page. To finish the left hand side of the spread off, I adhered my typed journaling strips underneath the title and watermelon piece.
To keep the layout looking balanced, I wanted to include some of the same colours over on the right hand page that I'd used on the left. So I added a strip of the yellow gingham paper down the right hand side of the page, and I tucked the scalloped branding strip off one of the solid color papers under the edge it. I also matted my photos with the aqua striped patterned paper.
On the bottom right hand corner of the photos, I layered together a couple of the floral die cuts from the kit to create a little cluster. Aren't they just so pretty?!
I used another stamp from the Elizabeth kit to stamp the phrase 'Good Vibes Only' onto white cardstock. I then cut it out and adhered it to the page using some craft foam.
To finish the layout off I added a couple of tiny stamped flowers to the page. I had so much fun creating this layout, and I can't wait t create some more Summer themed projects with this kit!
