Love This | Banning Lane

As I looked though the papers and embellishments that are in the "Willow" kit, it made me think of a specific photo that I recently took. A photo that will always and forever make me smile.

Before I tell you about the story behind that photo, let me show you my layout.

I think I could do 8 1/2 X 11 layouts with one photo and the top and some journaling underneath for the rest of my life and be perfectly happy. It is a design that just works for me. 

So back to that story. My daughter loves flowers, and weeds that look like flowers. She will pick them every chance she gets, and I get to be the lucky mama that receives all those flowers. She knows that I love flowers, but I don't think she quite understands that the best flowers are the ones that come from her. Those flowers are given with so much love that they can't help but make me smile. I know that one day all too soon, I won't get a handful of dandelions from a little girl who thinks they are beautiful. So I take pictures like these, so I will always remember that love. 

The first thing I did with this layout was add  the wood grain paper with that super pretty floral print on top of it to about 2/3 of my layout. I knew I wanted to use some of the yellow patterned paper to mat my photo so that was my next step. After that I just very randomly added some patterned paper layers with a bit of the die cut shapes mixed in. The finishing touch to my little cluster was the absolutely adorable little chubby paper clip. I am definitely going to be ordering more of those from the shop.

I wanted to add some details below my photo, mostly because it just felt empty. I decided to put a line of stitching right at the edge of my wood grain paper, and then a few more die cut shapes that went perfectly with my story.

The last thing I needed to add was my story. I drew some quick lines in with my pen and then wrote my words! simple as that.

What I love most about the Felicity Jane kits is that they always inspire me to tell my most important stories. I know that no matter what, my page is going to pretty but more importantly my pictures and words are going to shine. That is why Felicity Jane kits are the best.
