Hi everyone! Mandy here today to share my first project using the beautiful Mila kit! Who else is totally swooning over the gorgeous florals in this kit?! And the colors… So pretty!! I decided that for my first project using this kit, that I’d create a traveler’s notebook spread featuring a photo of my new vintage typewriter!
I wanted to use lots of the soft, muted colors on this spread to give it a vintage feel to match the photo. So first of all, I covered the left hand side of the spread with the diagonal striped patterned paper (only the light pink section). I then added one of the 3x4 journal cards to this page, and I used this as a pocket to tuck my journaling tag into. Some machine stitching down the sides and across the bottom of the card gave it the look of a pocket and also added some nice texture to the page. I also added one of the pretty foam stickers on top, and used this as the title for the layout.
I mostly use hand-written journaling in my TN inserts, but of course I had to use my typewriter to add my journaling to this page! I typed it onto to some plain paper first and then cut it up into strips, which I then adhered to one of the tags from the die cut pack. I also tied some cotton twine through it to finish it off. I LOVE the glittery gold detail on this tag!!
I layered another one of the journaling cards behind my photo, and then I embellished around the photo using bits and pieces from the die cut shapes pack. I also added a little fishtail banner up in the top right hand corner of the page. The die cuts are definitely one of my favorite things in this kit!
Of course I couldn’t go past adding one of the floral die cuts to the page! The last thing I did was add some stamping using the ‘love’ stamp from the Mila stamp set.
If you’re interested to see how this spread came together, you can watch my process video!
Thanks so much for joining me on the blog today! Happy crafting!
