Hello everyone, it’s Lindsey! My grandmother’s 80th birthday is next week and I needed to send her a card. The Millie Collection has some great sentiments for Valentine’s Day but they are also great for sending a little love to some one so I sat down and created a few options of cards to send to my grandma to let her know how much we love her!
For the first card, I started with a 4.25” x 5.5” side folding card base made from white cardstock. I covered the front of the card with the floral paper from the Millie Collection. I cut another piece of white cardstock to slightly smaller than the floral paper, added some black stitching as a border, distressed the edges, and then adhered this panel to the card with some double sided adhesive craft foam for dimension. The large ‘love you’ was an easy, all in one sentiment. The balloons were die cut and stamped on white cardstock. I also stamped the balloons on the paper packaging that comes with the paper pack and layered those on the die cuts for some paper pieced embellishments. I added varying levels of craft foam behind the balloons for some more dimension.
There are so many fun patterned papers in the Millie Collection but I thought I’d try making one of my own using the layered hearts from the stamp set. I started this card with the same card base and a piece of solid paper. I stamped the hearts on a piece of white cardstock cut slightly smaller than the front of my card. I used second generation stamping to get a more faded look. I distressed the edges of one of the journaling cards and added some more black stitching before adhering this to the card with some double sided adhesive craft foam. Some puffy hearts finished off this simple card.
The Lindsey stamp and dies pair so well with the Millie Collection and is a favorite of mine. I adhered some craft foam to a piece of floral paper sized slightly smaller than my card base (this card is the same size as the others, it’s just turned to the horizontal orientation) and then die cut ‘love’ from this panel. I added some double sided adhesive to the back of the red solid paper and die cut the inner part of the ‘love’ die before assembling these two pieces onto the card. I stamped a sentiment onto one of the Essentials label stickers and added some gold sequins to finish off this card.
Now I have a few cards to choose from to send to my grandma and the others I’ll save for when someone needs a little love filled happy mail!
