Hi everyone!
I can’t get enough of the Margot Kit with it’s beautiful florals and pretty elements! Today I have a layout to share with you featuring some fussy cut flowers, a library card pocket and some of the 2 x 2 inch squares from the cut apart sheets…all from this lovely kit.
I decided to go with a crisp white background using a 12 x 12 piece of Essentials White Cardstock so that the focus would be on my design down the centre of the page. I added a stitched white border around the edge for a little texture then added a strip of the grid paper down the middle. I also added stitching around the edge of the strip.
At the top of the strip I added two fussy cut flowers from the gorgeous Floral paper. These flowers were joined on the paper so I cut them apart and slightly overlapped them using foam tape under the one on the right to add a little dimension. I also tucked some fussy cut leaves under each side.
In the centre of the page I grouped together a 3 x 4 inch photo, a library card pocket and two of the 2 x 2 inch cut apart squares. I stitched around the edge of the heart square before tucking it under the top edge of the photo and I positioned the “just peachy” square under the bottom left before adding some more stitching. I also added a mint miniwide paper clip to the top left of the photo and a circular heart die cut piece.
My journaling was printed onto white cardstock and cut to a tag shape, then I used the Shay Tag Builder Metal Dies to add a pink reinforcer piece to the top before tying a twine bow. The tag was tucked into the pocket then I decorated the front with another 2 x 2 inch “today” square, the circular journaling die cut, a chipboard heart and some fussy cut flowers with a leaf. I typed the words “happy mother’s day” onto a piece of tissue paper using my typewriter then tore it into a circle before stitching it onto the die cut circle. I love the texture this adds to the page!
At the bottom of the page is my title made up of some Rebekah Puffy Alphabet Stickers and the fun Margot Chipboard Alphabet Stickers. I also added the date using a die cut label, white cardstock and the Aspen Stamp Set. I stitched across the date label to finish off the layout.
The Margot Kit made it so easy to put this page together! I hope I’ve given you a few ideas to use on your next project.
