Hey friends, Suzanna here! I’m so excited to be back on the blog today sharing a scrapbook layout I created using the Henley kit. As soon as I saw the colors in this kit, I knew exactly what I wanted to use it for!
Last month I celebrated my birthday with friends and family. One of the photos I took had some of the exact colors included in the Henley kit!
For this layout, I used a technique that I have been having so much fun doing recently - using journaling cards for my journal space in a traditional scrapbook layout. I started out by matting my photo with tissue paper, a journaling card, and patterned paper. From there, the layout came together pretty quickly!
I used the fun pink pom pom trim from the kit to border my journaling. I love the dimension this gave the layout! I also bumped the wood veneer heart tag up on foam for additional dimension! Then I started doing my favorite thing - clustering!
I clustered in three areas around the layout - the bottom right corner, bottom left corner, and top left corner. This creates a visual triangle of embellishments and makes the layout appealing to the eye.
Then, I added my title using the gold alphas. I didn’t use a straight edge when applying the alphas to intentionally give the title an imperfect look. I think that pairs well with the messy clusters and tilted photo!
To finish off the layout, I added splatters of gold craft mist to the bottom right and top left corners. I love the added touch of gold that gave the layout! The Henley kit is filled with little bits that are perfect for adding texture, dimension, and tiny clusters to your projects!
